I see this on here with religious kiwis and I don't think god would appreciate what goes on in edgy reddit. There's gotta be something that's against lolcow culture in the bible.Anyways, sorry for the mini rant, I'm not religious, I just hate hypocrites that use religion and "trad values" as an excuse to judge others.
They'd need to learn high and low german, Aka Pennsylvania Dutch. English is only for speaking to outsiders. They don't know German. Also, having someone drive you around can be a real pain in the ass. Also, also, they have no conviction.
Most of them already being weirdo outsiders in common society, I can only imagine how they'd fair in an Amish society with stricter rules. One does not simply "join the Amish". Even if they begrudgingly accepted you, I imagine you'd be quite lonely and seen as a weirdo outsider.
They take in outsidersThey don't take in outsiders, you can't just "join" the Amish.
Why not? They don't take in outsiders, you can't just "join" the Amish.
There are. Multiple verses, in fact.I see this on here with religious kiwis and I don't think god would appreciate what goes on in edgy reddit. There's gotta be something that's against lolcow culture in the bible.

Proverbs 20:19: "A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid anyone who talks too much".
2 Corinthians 12:20: Paul expresses concern about the Corinthian church's behavior, highlighting harmful attitudes and actions like gossip.
1 Timothy 5:13: "They learn to be idlers, going about from house to house, and not only idlers but also gossips and busybodies, saying what they should not".
Psalm 141:3: "Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips".
Leviticus 19:16: "You shall not go around as a gossip among your people, and you are not to act against the life of your neighbor [with slander or false testimony]; I am the LORD".
Romans 1:29: God places gossip amongst a catalogue of sins which characterise those who are under God's wrath and are 'worthy of death'.
Ephesians 4:29: "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear".
Some communities do. You have to be truly sincere in your desire to join them. They don't take ambivalent people. They take in outsiders
