Iirc the name comes from a corruption of “Cwciki Forums” (what the site used to be named, referencing the Cwciki, a wiki dedicated to Chris-Chan) popularized by lolcow Deagle Nation (later revealed to be a troll). The name was changed because the site started being less about Chris-Chan and discussion branched out to other lolcows.

The forum was named CWCWiki forum(pronounced 'quickie') during the early Chris Chan only years, due to mispronunciations, it was called 'Kiwi'. eventually leading to a formal name change, after the forum was opened up to other cows.
