The meaning of the symbol is fundamentally against what the liberal world order presents. Depending on its orientation either promises total destruction of the adharma, or the restoration of dharma. Enlightenment humanism and (neo)liberalism; marxism etc etc - really anything that preaches the equality of man - is diametrically opposed to dharma and thus to the swastika.

It's a piece of history. Why can't we just view it for what it is, right wrong or indifferent?

What annoys me is how subjective and inconsistent it is. The swastika is treated as the symbol of pure evil incarnate, but the USSR's hammer and sickle is just viewed as kind of quaint and amusing. Nevermind the fact that the Soviets genocided more people than the Nazis ever did, including racial, religious, and anti-homosexual purges of the Russian population.

I think it all stems from the fact that the victor writes the history. The US was enemies with Germany in WW2, not Russia, and so that created a framework of viewing the world that has cascaded and affected our perspectives even today.
