Why is French considered a romantic language? - It sounds gross tbh

It is descended from Latin, same as all the other Romance languages.
It's a language that came from latin aka the language of Rome.
"Romance" doesnt mean the love kind in this context.
There are plenty of other romance languages like spanish and Italian.
That's not what I meant.
I was talking about how some people call it "the language of love" or some gay shit like that.

Anglo fascination with French cultural attitudes regarding intimate relations.
Cyrano de Bergerac wrote all those love letters in French.
Those medieval troubadours sang about courtly love and chivalry in Old French.
 
Because French is very similar to Latin, just like Itie and Mexican. English is not because it developed from Germans and Norwegians and then was only mispronounced by french people when France briefly owned England.
