Why is it that some posts can't be quoted? Is it still a glitch?

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Solution
Is it the length of a post? Too many words and it fruits out and you can't reply?
Yes, length or certain things like it being an OP or in certain places like Community Happenings. I believe it's all by design, not a glitch. If you hover over the whited-out quote/reply button, it'll give a tooltip explaining it. You should instead highlight whatever section of the post you want to quote and click the quote/reply button.

Ah thank you, indeed it does. Is this a limitation of the forum?

I think it's more that Null wants people not to do things like quote huge texts walls, rather than it being a Xenforo problem, but I'm not savvy enough on the software to know. You'd have to ask him or see if you can dig up a post where he talks about it (I think he did before, but I'm not sure where, maybe Technical Grievances.)

Cheers. I spose it's like the old Usenet days where you would quote specific texts in your reply.
