A drawing of Caillou at a railroad crossing. Plus, since Caillou is a Canadian cartoon, at least that's what I believe, I decided to do a Canadian Railroad Crossing, or as they would call it a "Railway Crossing," at least I think they call it that. That's why the crossbucks, the X shaped signs are white with red outlines instead of white with black letters saying "RAILROAD CROSSING." although they used to do signs saying RAILWAY CROSSING. Just for the record, I've never been in Canada, but I've been very close to the Canadian Border when I lived in upstate New York, and I've been to the city of Ogdensburg.
In addition, I decided to make the crossing signal lights 8", the bells mechanical, and the gates are vertically striped and have R.E.C.O. 4" gate lights. Canada used vertically striped gates before the United States started to but I don't know when.
This is one website that shows Canada's railroad crossings
mto.gov.on.ca/english/safety/t… This website has actual photos of Canadian Railroad Crossing signs, signals, and gates. They're signals are exactly like the U.S.'s but they're crossbucks are like in my drawing and they're Number of Tracks signs, well they still give the number but instead of saying "TRACKS" they show a track symbol. Like we do in the U.S., some are black and white like in this picture:
upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia…, used by Canadian Pacific, others are red and white like this one:
www.teamstersrail.ca/July_11.j… and
c1.staticflickr.com/3/2016/214… (this one has lights and gates, and a vertically striped gate, the former was just a crossbuck-only crossing)

I also made this drawing of Caillou at a Railroad Crossing because this is something I would have loved to have seen on the cartoon Caillou. I mean there were a few episodes about trains, one of which was of him travelling cross-country, or an episode him going on a car trip, but none of them featured a railroad crossing. So I drew this picture. If any of you wanted to see a railroad crossing on an episode of Caillou, unless there's a Caillou episode I haven't seen yet, this is as close as we're going to get in seeing a railroad crossing on Caillou.
I know I seem to be obsessed with seeing railroad crossings on cartoons and I know I'm not going to see railroad crossings on every cartoon or animated show or movie, even if they feature trains or car-trips, but this is my interest.
Even though I drew Caillou as big as he is in the picture, in reality, he's actually much smaller than the railroad crossing signals, at least he would be. I drew him that size and the signals and gates the size they are on purpose because I've learned from experience it's hard to draw good pictures of cartoon characters and railroad crossings in the same picture and if you want to draw crossing signals, especially whole crossing signals, you have to make the cartoon characters really small, but if you want the cartoon character to really be seen, it will limit how much of the crossing signal you draw. That's the problem I had in this deviation:
arthur-in-high-school.wikia.co… I thought I submitted this on DA but I guess I didn't but I might later on. Anyway I was able to draw the whole cartoon character's body but I was only able to draw part of the crossing signal, which is a cantilever hence the ladder on the side, and I was only able to draw part of the gate.
So I decided to change the way I did things. It looks unrealistic but I wanted a clear picture of the cartoon character and the railroad crossing signals and gates.
I also decided to draw crossing signals from a different angle, an off-street angle instead of a street-view angle. I did the same thing in other drawings such as this one:

More cartoon-railroad crossing drawings to come, maybe at least one more with Caillou in it.
