Why our civilisation is declining?

From a market perspective, demand increasing vs dwindling supply (aided by government effectively forcing demand through extreme spending, and restricting supply through over regulation and taxation), from a social perspective, no one really agrees on what is right or moral, or the direction we should take, which some would argue is fed into by TPTB so they can more easily exert control over the populace.

Edit: Forgot to add Keynesian economics and the fed.

Well, you've got two main options to explain the decline.

First, it is possible that Father God is severely chastising nominally Christian nations and has done so since the foundation of Islam. In this narrative, Christianity is the one true faith, and the many centuries of Muslim onslaught against Christian lands represent God disciplining and chastising His own people again and again and again and yet His people never learn the lesson. The evidence of this is that only one group of people has killed more Christians than Muslims have: other Christians. Look at the War of the Roses. Look at all the internecine wars of "Christian" nations in Europe. How disgusting that those who appropriate the name of God would live in this manner. God's wrath is righteous; vengeance is His; God shall avenge! Therefore, He has ordained that continuous hordes of Muslim invaders will shatter what is left of "Christendom," which was never even truly Christian, and which has angered him continuously due to Christians' failure to abide by the teachings of Jesus Christ. Those being burnt alive and otherwise martyred are then lifted up to Heaven to enjoy eternal life.

On the other hand, it is possible that the Christians have been dead wrong from the beginning. It is possible that worshipping Jesus Christ as God is shirk and therefore a grievous offense to Allah. It is possible that the many centuries of Muslim depredations have been God's people making holy war against the decadent, quasi-pagan Christians who aren't even really monotheists. In this narrative, the Christians who perish on the battlefield experience just a small taste of the torment that awaits them in Hell, while Muslims who perish on the battle field are lifted up into Paradise to receive their 6 dozen virgins. Things like Armenians being burnt alive take on a new meaning: rather than the poor, long-suffering people of God being persecuted by a Satanic cult following a false Prophet, these acts that are widely regarded as atrocities are actually just God's righteous wrath being poured out against all idolators.

I can't decide which one is true. I can't tell. I really can't tell. But it is one of those two options.

I can't find it now, but some substacker made a very interesting argument that the enlightenment on was driving by soaring literacy rates. His main point was that reading encourages people to think in a more abstracted, nuanced way.

The other part of his argument was that the modern, image dominated world most people reside in encourages the opposite way of thinking.
