Why Rowling and not [insert other problematic creator]?
In order to properly answer this question, one must look at analyze the reasons for each political party separately. The conservatives' animosity towards Rowling is straightforward. Their dislike isn't necessarily towards her, but it targets her bestselling children's series. As Harry Potter is a book about fictional young children blessed with magical abilities and attending magic school, it is accused of poisoning actual young children's minds with thoughts of witchcraft and later homosexuality because Rowling answered that Dumbledore is gay to a question at a book tour stop. Since Section 28 was in effect when Rowling wrote her books, she would have been forced to not explicitly mention his homosexuality as it could be used as a reason to pull her books for school libraries, so a child would not be aware that Dumbledore is gay from just reading the books. The witchcraft specific derangement has brought cases to the Georgia Supreme Court and allegedly prevented Rowling from receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award of the United States.
On the other hand, liberals love Rowling's books - their derangement stems from their dislike for Rowling. Interestingly for liberals, particularly trannies, afflicted with RDS reserve a specific type of hate for J.K. Rowling. Remember, J.K. made her stance clear two and a half years ago and troons had a lead on her from 2018, yet seething is still going strong. The reason behind this is multifaceted:
1) Arrested Development
As mentioned before, Harry Potter is beloved by many but liberals take it personally. The people who have the most severe cases of RDS are always liberals who consoom in vast amounts and love Harry Potter. They are stuck with the dilemma of wanting to buy merchandise but not wanting to be seen as someone who supports a thought crime offender. Instead of just getting over it and going on with their lives like a normal person would, sufferers of RDS take every chance that they can get to express their hatred for Rowling since they view her as the sole reason why they can't enjoy their favorite thing anymore. This line of though shows itself when they say "Rowling could have just kept her mouth shut." or "If only she learned how to shut the fuck up."
2) Political Betrayal
Ignoring her stance on trans policies, Rowling's political beliefs lies squarely on the left. She has donated £1 million to the Labour Party in 2008, opposed Brexit, mocks Trump by comparing him to Voldemort, supports abortion rights, stands with Ukraine, and sides with Palestine. As of winter 2022, her Twitter page is full of tweets supporting the women and girls under the Taliban regime. Thus, progressives viewed her as one of them and assumed that she supports everything that they do. When Rowling made her stance clear, it hurt many progressives personally because in their minds she has defected from the party. They expected that type of rhetoric from conservatives, not from one of their own. Coupled with the fact that since Rowling wrote the books that were foundational to their childhood, progressives look up to her in almost a motherly way, the outrage truly came from the heart.
3) She's a woman
Besides the obvious fact that J.K. Rowling is a woman and trannies aren't, Rowling gets higher amounts of vitriol because the entire trans rights movement hinges on bullying women, especially dissenting women, into submission. She is being used as an example: if the mob is able to tear single mom, domestic violence victim, self made rags-to-riches billionaire J.K. Rowling down, then any woman who is thinking of speaking against the tranny menace will rethink her position.
Book Mutilation
How would one express their anger at a creator? By destroying your copy of the thing that they created of course! Nevermind the fact that it doesn't matter since she already got her royalties and she loses nothing over it.
When the conservatives suffered from RDS, book burning was prevalent. The arsonistic activity dates back to 2001 and were almost always coordinated by churches. How would one express their anger at a creator? Anecdotally, I recall my very religious grandmother telling me not to read Harry Potter so I suspected that she got that from her church friends and networks like Trinity Broadcasting Network and Christian Broadcasting Network. Ive found an old segment of the 700 Club talking about it.
For relevancy and transparency, I cropped out irrelevant topics and kept the prerecorded news segment that gives a quick background on Harry Potter. If you would like to go straight to the interesting discussion, go to 3:34 in the youtube video or 2:45 in the archived video.
The conservative book burning carries on to this day, albeit less often. In 2017 a few Trump supporters tweeted about their intention to burn and action of burning the Harry Potter books in response to her comparing Trump to Voldemort for his immigration policies...

...some Poles did it in 2019...

..and this lolcow tier pastor named Greg Locke does it twice, one in Feb 2022 and another in Oct 31 2022.

Now, during those times every liberal was making fun of religious conservatives for doing something so rash. Book burning? Pssh, how medieval and on-brand for Christians. Surely these modern progressives would never resort to such puritan tactics, right?

...right?

......riiiiiiight?
........right...(Note: after searching far and wide the only format I could find of this video is from Matt Walsh and with his voiceover. If anyone can find a copy of the original video that would be stellar)
I even found a recent instance of a 130k subscribers leftist youtuber (who looks like he's gonna troon out any day now) burning her books.
I'd like to note here that this video is a good example of how RDS manifests itself in leftists. The entire backstory that he gave as justification to burn Rowling's book is obviously fabricated.
The Casual Vacancy was not released under a pen name. While it did receive mixed reviews from critics, it has the second best selling opening week for an adult novel in the UK, was #1 on Amazon's Top 100 for more than a year, and won Best Fiction in 2012 Goodreads Choice Awards. I personally haven't read it, but I've heard that it could be better but its not absolute shit. To be fair, he could be mistaking The Casual Vacancy for The Cuckoo's Calling, the debut novel of the crime fiction Cormoran Strike series. This was released under the pen name Robert Galbraith and was not considered to be a flop at all before her identity was revealed; in three months it had sold 1,500 printed copies and an additional 7,000 ebook, audiobook, and library copies which is good for a debut author with no social media. The dust jacket quotes from established crime fiction authors Val McDermid, Alex Gray, and Mark Billingham were reviewed without knowledge of who Galbraith actually was. In fact, people were surprised that a debut author who's background was allegedly in the military could produce such a book. After rumors spread and literature was computationally compared, it was revealed that Rowling did write the book. There are now six novels (a seventh in the works) and a TV miniseries. To say that The Cuckoo's Calling or The Casual Vacancy flopped terribly is factually incorrect.
"If I can still see her godforsaken tweets, and I can still see all of the articles about the next dogshit thing shes said,
and I can still- and she's still publishing terrible books whining and crying about how she can't be a terrible person,
then no censorship has happened. [...] So consider not being a crybaby about a bunch of pages being burned
when you can just buy it for 99 cents on Amazon if you wanted"

Just remember, even if you saw it yourself, it definitely doesn't happen!

One artistic transman has taken to rebind the Harry Potter books without J.K. Rowling's name on it. Laur Flom obtains second hand paperback copies of the novels, rips out the pages with the author's name on it, and rebinds it in high quality materials. They are sold for CAD$230 which is USD$170. You can get the full set for CAD$1,600/USD$1,195.
This seems like a lot money, but I actually have experience with bookbinding so I can provide some insight. Her handiwork is very clean and professional but she claims that it takes 7 hours of work to make a book. If that's the case I think she works very slowly, because most of the effort in bookbinding is when you stitch the signatures (tiny books of 5-6 sheets of paper) together which she doesn't do. I used to be able to hand bind a book of 20 signatures in 3-4 hours at my peak. The only large amount of effort would be in curving the spine which she doesn't do for every copy. She's really raking in more than she should. I'm only sperging about it because she made a video to justify the price.
"J.K. Rowling poisoned our water supply, burned our crops and delivered a plague unto our houses!"
"She did?"
"No, but are we just going to wait around until she does?!"
Because trans rights activists (TRAs) love her books so much but cannot cope with the fact that Rowling has differing opinions than them, they tend to resort to outrageous claims about her and her novels. The tactic is to parrot the lies so many times such that any normie will say "well if EVERYONE is saying it then I guess it must be true"."She did?"
"No, but are we just going to wait around until she does?!"

This leads to the unfiltered rage directed towards her that manifests itself in tweets, vandalism, doxing, and more:

These reactions primarily came from the aforementioned Pink News article. The information that they reported is false.

People are starting to see through the ruse. This will lead TRAs to call those that peak Nazis and racist while revving their propaganda machine up harder

Twitter is such a good source for material that you can search "rowling" once per day and return with new content.

An intriguing habit that leftists that suffer from RDS have is calling Rowling by a name that she doesn't use publicly - Joanne. This is done to patronize her and to disrespect her by using a name that is similar to a deadname.

Anyone who defends Rowling gets berated by the mob as well.

Notably, Robbie Coltrane, the actor that played Hagrid, supported Rowling and when he passed away liberals danced on his grave.

Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) said "yea rowling bad but can we cool it with the threats? you need therapy". This, of course, generated a Lynch mob.

Hogwarts Legacy is an upcoming open world RPG developed by Portkey Games set in the Harry Potter Universe. You're a youth of the 1800s about to transfer into Hogwarts as a 4th year student. The game allows you to freely roam the school and surrounding area, attend classes, tend to magical flora and fauna, and sling spells as you unfold a narrative that disrupts the wizarding world. All of the Potterhead's dreams come true on February 10th, 2023 on PC, PS5, and Xbox X/S (or February 7th if you preordered the Deluxe edition, April 4th for PS4 and Xbox One, and July 25th for Switch). This game was announced in September 2020 and the media machine immediately went to work.
Tom's Guide -Hogwarts Legacy: Is it wrong to buy the new Harry Potter game?

Gizmodo - She Still Gets Your Money

In the FAQ for the game's website, the developers go so far as to say that J.K. Rowling is not directly involved with the creation of the game and that it is not a new story from her.

However, the current FAQ amends that they collaborated closely with her team on all aspects of the game.

We don't know exactly how much creative freedom J.K. Rowling's team gives to third parties, but we do know that when Walt Disney World and Universal Studios was in a bidding war over who gets to build the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park, Rowling signed a letter of intent with Disney to produce the theme park with them but Disney later backed out as Rowling's creative influence and Warner Bros. terms were strict. So its reasonable to say that everything that players experience in Hogwarts Legacy is approved by Rowling and held up to her standards.
Of course, it doesn't fucking matter.
CCN - J.K. Rowling Didn't Write Hogwarts Legacy but It Doesn't Matter

To this day, almost every single news article that talks about Hogwarts Legacy has a section that quickly glosses over the fact that Rowling said something to be deemed transphobic.
As development progressed, it became clear that the game actually looks pretty good. On November 11th, 2022, the first Gameplay Showcase premiered on Youtube. The second Gameplay Showcase aired on December 14th.
- Extensive character customizer, with many Black hair styles (this is important to liberals)
- Instead of gender they went with the cop out of voice options: Voice One is masculine and Voice Two is feminine and players can determine the pitch. Players also chose if they go into the Witch or Wizard dorms.
- Playes can duel with schoolmates and join an underground dueling arena where you can straight up kill people with Avada Kedavra.
- Multiple mounts, including brooms and pegasi.
- A pocket dimension that serves as a sanctuary for fantastic beasts that players can freely customize.

The developers, Avalanche Software, have not made a game of such scale before, but to give them credit they were shut down by Disney and swiftly bought out and reopened by Warner Bros. so its likely that the company has fresh talent and a new organizational structure.
Troons and their supporters are trying their hardest to disrupt the hype.

Two consistent tactics used to discredit the game are saying that it is antisemitic because the plot is about quelling a goblin rebellion and goblins are an allegory for Jews and that a previous designer used to run a far right youtube channel.

There have been news articles mentioning a boycotting petition with more than a million signatures but I have yet to find any petition or articles directly linking to it. They have taken to Steam to apply irrelevant tags to dissuade people from buying it. Which is funny because absolutely no one believes that Hogwarts Legacy is NSFW.

r/GamingCirclejerk has recently been a hub of content featuring Rowling Derangement Syndrome:
Comparing people ordering the game to white nationalists

Implying that the Day 1 patch will be a mess (just like almost every AAA game)

A mod of gamingcirclejerk telling that anyone who buys the game is a transphobe

Recently, people came after the voice actor for "Voice One" in the game. He apologized, but as per usual, its never enough.

As the release date approaches, people suffering from Rowling Derangement Syndrome will increase their rate of posting. It is likely that the game will be a commercial success, there will be stories of liberals cutting friends off because said friends played the game. I wouldn't be surprised if people download the game on an alternative launcher like Epic Games to play it without outing themselves to their Steam friends.
A lovely thanks to @Whereismymind @AirdropShitposts @CognitiveDeficiency @Jack Awful and everyone else who I may have forgotten for providing content and feedback
