I'm re-posting this from poetry. Though wisdom can be said through poetic means, sometimes use methods such as parables, myths, etc. I thought it should have it's own thread.

This is a parable I came up with on a lot of cannabis smoke.

---------------------------------------

A great master once said to his student,

"Light is Dark,
Dark is Light

Truth is Truth

Light is Light
Dark is Dark"

"But how can this be?", the student asked, "how can two so different be the same and how are they truth?"

Master replied,

"The truth is simple, one must see past distinctions of light and dark, then the two are one. Simply one."

Fire burns frost as frost freezes fire.
Ice freezes the flames as the flames burn the Ice.

The active Flames
The passive Frost

The active Frost
The passive Flames

As is the truth, nothing more than Frost and Flames.

What is it to be a true human being, a person who knows their essence? It is seen in compassion. Give unto others without expecting anything in return.

That my friend, is the world of God.

Null can be intimidating, but remember, as a leader, you must be strong. A good leader shows compassion, but may have to be sern towards his men. That is done because he loves them.

A ruler is loyal to his subjects, always reaching out to help them. In return, the subjects are loyal to their ruler, and realize their ruler makes the decisions of the kingdom in the people's best interest. What unites the two, ruler and subject. The compassion between them.

Sorry for re-posting this one, but I think there is wisdom to it (not from me, but from the teacher's of old) so it should be put here.

Love is charity. You love, which makes you charitable. People who receive your charity learn to love, to be charitable to others. Love gives through charity. Charity gives love. They are one in the same.

Peasants typically had shitty lives and weren't super loyal to rulers.

I speak in Non-dualism when I am high. Remember so. Though I'm still plagued with language. I know. But try to follow the train of thought, and you may see through

The most profound thing anyone ever told me was something my stand-up teacher said once, that I'm sure I've mentioned on these forums a million times before because it applies to every situation in life:

"Never give the audience the punchline they could have thought of themselves."

It was expressed in literal terms (a large part of what makes humor work is surprise, so you'll always get a better reaction with an unexpected punchline) but it can be applied to anything. When writing, never use the colloquial metaphor unless you have a reason, because an original one will be more impactful. You're never going to accomplish anything meaningful by doing what any random person could do. You have to express what's unique to your perspective.
