Would banning phoneposters improve post quality? - Normalfags, etc

I see some here posting mobile links and it made me think

Cant say about this site but others like reddit went straight to fucking shit when phoneposting became the norm. Sites/apps that are made for phones first are literal bottom of the barrel quality-wise, the amount of noise and spam its so high it makes the bulk of the content there. Any attempts at real discussion gets derailed to fuck, it all gets reduced to little short meaningless bits because phone users are, lets be honest, mostly braindead normalfags with no attention span who could never figure out a computer and only went online after god punished us by slowing that faggot's jobs vegan cancer so he could unleash the iphone plague unto the world before dying like a bitch

Would the post quality of a site improve if it banned phoneposters and went PC-only? has anyone tried this? what was the result? did it improve things or shit stayed the same but with 1/10th of the users?

That would require fingerprinting and would violate the privacy aspect the site provides. Not only that but it has easy circumventions, like a user-agent switcher. In fact, with an ad-blocker I can just block fingerprinting altogether.
