Would you rather have a penny that doubles every day or a penny that doubles in size every day?

It would have to be a US penny from 1793 to 1837 for it to be pure copper as all pennies now are zinc with a copper plating. Also if it doubles in size every day you would want it to be larger than a plate to maximize your profits since it doubles in size every day. I would like my puzzle pieces now.

What if one day you forget to chop off the penny and it doubles in size and then it gets out of hand and you cant chop the copper off faster than it grows and its suddenly as big as the pentagon and its an extinction level event as you have to get farther and farther away from the penny each day to avoid being crushed. would there be penny society of people that dig into the penny and live there to escape its wrath? would a civilization of blimps be started as people fly high above it to avoid its reach? the question is not so simple as "i would chop off some copper and sell it for money" there is a whole ethical dilemma to be had, would people start to believe that the US was the true god and that abraham lincoln was the second coming of christ? would people live in the lincoln memorial after the penny grows to such a large size that it would be as big as a real building? would the ridges of the outer layer be used as a prison where we strap people to the outer edge of the penny and day after day they are subjected to thousands of g-forces as the penny expands? would the penny after reaching critical mass become a whole new planet with its own atmosphere and magnetic pull? what if it got so big that it bumped into the sun and started to melt thus creating a stop to its expansion yet leaving behind a supermassive penny floating in the cosmos? would niggers still smell really really bad? all these questions and yet we may never know...

I'm wondering how it would "double" every day (in value), wouldn't it destroy the economy? It would also have to be so magical that it would have to prevent things like the coin being internationally outlawed from use.

It would end up like with the european countries that changed from their currency to the euro, but this time for this type of coin, although you would not be able to exchange it for any value, so you'd end up with a worthless coin or have it confiscated.

day 2; 2
day 3; 4
day 4; 8
etc.

Then I think that also would impact the economy and create some unusual situation where they're eventually confiscated due to insane inflation/etc.

Exponentially multiplying without control would also be a planetary catastophe, so if you wanted to use I assume you'd just sell as copper/zinc, but then the other person will do as well.

It would become news quickly, and yet again, all be confiscated by the government in order to have a never ending supply of these metals, however they'd eventually have to send the excess coins to space, and when that is not viable anymore, send all coins to space.

But what happens with the copper and zinc used by those coins? Do they also double while they're part of something else? Then it literally would be like a curse, and absolutely all pennies would be sent to space in order to avoid the obvious uncontrolled situation.

The prick thing to do would be to scatter & throw your pennies all around the world and in concealed places, so that the govt. spends all money desperately searching for them to send them off ASAP.

You also would have a weapon of destruction. If you put a one of those pennies in certain places and let them multiply, they would fill the place and cause structural damages, like let's say if you put them inside a building/basement/pillars/etc.
