Spencer should rank as one of the worst gaming executives of all time historically. He (and a few other executives) squandered what could have been a juggernaut brand. When Xbox finally collapses it will be fascinating to see which studios burn in the wreckage as well.
This is pretty much the only thing that the Xbox brand has going for it. Fan loyalty and nostalgia. Xbox is running on fumes.

More expensive and the games are worse. More and more are first party games, and Microsoft games are shit.
Microsoft expect you to ditch your Xbox and its games now, then buy a ROG Ally handheld PC for $899.
I can’t wait to see the pricing of their Xbox pc next year when it’s announced.
Unironically I hope we live in the universe where Microsoft releases an Xbox OS to directly compete with themselves. Like a SteamOS with less games, worse performance, and you need to age verify to use it.

Shouldn't it be the older a console gets, the cheaper it becomes? I remember when Xbox 360 holiday bundles were $300 with two games and a 250 GB hard drive.

Actually the older computer hardware gets, the more powerful they become. I personally have barrels full of fermenting Dell Optiplexes that i pop open on a good occasion.
Dont forget they push gamepass on pc too, thats how they get pc players to pay.
