Her crime? Calling another author who happened to be Asian ugly.
This author in question is named Emily Duncan, and apparently she writes Russian fantasy or whatever.

I seriously wonder about that too sometimes, if all this is just to discredit the left wing.
I was thinking today in fact about how much left wing politics used to often make sense to me, how downright smarter left leaning people seemed, now I look at how literally retarded they've become and ask myself the question "what the hell happened?"
This is a popular theory and one I and others have thrown around, but you really do have to wonder if after the Great Recession the powers that be really were afraid of some global socialist revolution in response so they subverted the left wing and turned into it into the absolute retardation it is today.
Because if that's not a parody and the person who wrote that is being serious, this is all absolutely a psyop, this is intentional insanity being promoted for nefarious means, because there's no way attitudes so downright fucking bizarre just happened naturally.

This one's even more nuts than that- the Asian author she called ugly (receipts? we just don't know) is Amelie Wen Zhao, author of Blood Heir, the book that got completely rewritten before its release because a few YA authors accused her of being anti-black because her book dealt with non-racial slavery. There are tons of articles on it, and it was one of those stinks that made YA Twitter infamous. The book was scheduled to come out when Emily Duncan's was, she joined the dogpile, and was safely able to celebrate when the book got pushed back. I'll bet all of YA Twitter said things about Amelie Wen Zhao at the time that were over the line and about her as a person, but because Stop Asian Hate virtue signaling is in the news now, because Emily's new book came out today, because she's rubbed people the wrong way for too long, this happens. I cannot overemphasize how badly Amelie was treated before her book even had a chance to debut. but the sides have reversed just for the chance of taking down at least 3 white authors. What amazes me is how nobody ever seems to think their head could be next on the chopping block.
Emily A. Duncan isn't exactly a movie star herself, to top it all off. At first glance I thought troon, though that is clearly not the case.

Since we’re not really talking about functional human beings here, it shouldn’t surprise me that they don’t do the humane thing when one of their “friends” is being canceled. Just say “so and so is my friend. They are a good person. I have nothing else to say on the matter.” That’s all they have to do but they clearly don’t value or understand friendship.

IIRC, Emily Duncan was the one who canceled an author over being anti-black by depicting slavery in her novel about Russia (because there never were any non-black slaves, obviously). It also probably had something to do that said author wrote fantasy about Russia which is something Emily Duncan also does. The author, Ta-Nehisi Coates, a reparations advocate and racist who only knows how to talk about race, is set to write the next superman film. Fun! Before writing Captain America he worked exclusively on Black Panther for Marvel. He no longer has a twitter, because he flounced in 2017 after someone called him a neoliberal and accused him of being too capitalist in an article for The Guardian of all places. (A neoliberal criticising Jordan Peterson?? How surprising.) When the Grauniad is calling you a pandering crony, you know it's bad.

Making a comic where a character is based on spergy Youtube/Social Media skeptics could make for some funny material, I think. But, a combination of trying to make this super serious and the author being unable to make their own personal grievances more subtle kills it. But, if Peterson is actually upset about this, that's amusing to me.
I've read a few pretty good books with Nazi characters that actually developed them and went into why they were caught up in the ideology. But, those were historical fiction novels and not comic books, looks like the subject is portrayed in a more shallow light in comics. (Mainstream ones anyway.)
