Youtube will be demonetizing creators who have under 1000 subscribers. - Too bad too sad if you're not as Popular as Pewdiepie.

Fuck this. I have over 350 substribers and I have made over 44 dollars on Youtube. Now I won't be able to get my money since I have to hit the $100 threshold in order to withdraw it. This is definitely going to discourage a new generation of potential youtubers. We need a serious YouTube competitor now.

EDIT: How am I late?? I don't see any other thread about this on Kiwi.

Been a long time coming and frankly, how it should have been in the first place.

YouTube's partnership program is total cancer and unless you're raking in literal millions of views it is not even worth pursing as a revenue stream because the amount of money you will make from it is so insignificant that it won't cover the costs of producing your content in the first place.

Honestly, the idea of monetizing videos was pointless to begin with. Especially since half the stuff on YouTube has copywritten material of some kind.

I just find it funny, because this is basically burning the platform to the ground. They want YouTube to be the next TV, so they want to chase off anyone new. This makes total sense to me, because they want to replace network television, and you don't want a million assholes cluttering it up. They also want to eliminate smaller, established channels. They have no intention of restricting logan paul besides the slap on the wrist they gave him.

They want only popular, multi-million watched content. Anyone else can fuck off to them.

It's so sad to hear OP that you can no longer make money off of this
