YouTube has given a pilot order to It’s a Man’s World (working title), a provocative half-hour comedy taking on gender inequality in the gaming industry. It is written by Smash creator Theresa Rebeck and produced by Christina Wayne’s Assembly Entertainment in association with ITV Studios America.

When she gets fired without explanation and finds that she’s being blacklisted by everyone in her industry, Emma decides to dress as a man to get a new job and to continue supporting her family. As strange and politically incorrect as Emma’s new life may be, she begins to enjoy the newfound ease of access and power that comes with being a man.

This sounds like an awful 80s sitcom.

Anyway, they already did the high school version of this in the 80s. Just One Of The Guys. It's not a new idea. But in the 80s we didn't have current year identity politics so the story was allowed to be fun.

Inb4 “she’s actually trans uwu” headcanons

Thousands on Tumblr are probably already kin with the main character.

the best thing of this is that there is no middle ground.
if they try to make it a political commentary they will have to shat on gaming and will get hell for it.
if they try to be self aware and mock the stance that men have it easier than women, SJW will eat em alive.

no matter how they play, they already lost

Also fun fact, she was actually fired from Smash. Why, I don't know

My understanding is she was consistently late with content and unable/unwilling to take notes. Also, she brought in stuff from her private life into the scripts and it was easily the worst part of the show.

Hmm. Creator/writer for something unable to think of anything new, instead just has a self-insert going through what they went through. Where have I heard that before... oh, right, a whole slew of narcissistic SJWs whose works subsequently fail. Funny, that.

So basically the John K. method of running a show? Refuse to turn in work and throw a shitfit when the channel cans your lazy ass?

Oh but she's a woman so it's misogyny. No, seriously, she claims she was let go for no reason other than that she was working in a male-dominated field.
