YT 06/14/18 - Chris needs a Commodore 64 mechanic.

He's in a chirpy mood and wants to restore something that was his Dads and I assume apart of his childhood. Might be cheaper/easier to buy another one, but I get wanting to try and put back the original for sentimental reasons. Hope he gets it working tbh

Well, without looking that closely, the C64 might be salvageable. Would probably be easier for CWC to hock it off "as-is" on ebay, than going through the hassle of getting it fixed, unless he wants to keep it.

EDIT: Well, by the looks of it, he hasn't opened it up. The thing with electronics this old is that they might go off when thrown into the junk pile. The RF modulator's rust pretty much nonissue(I mean, he has the proper monitor for video after all, nobody uses RF outputs anymore), and the plastic seems to be in condition you could restore it in an afternoon. I think the unit itself needs through look before any judgement is made, the rust has probably gotten to the RF shield inside, there will probably be dust etc, the chips could also need reseating or replacing. Oh yeah, and he'll probably run it with OG power supply, which is ticking time bomb too in itself. In right hands, it might be fun project.

Lets be brutally honest, hes not fixing it to remember Bob, hes doing it to sell it.

Chris has a drawing of his hedgehog husbandos taped to the ceiling. Great. Definetly getting better.
Ewwwww! I thought you were kidding but sure enough...

I guess it's so Chris can look at them at all times while in bed, and maybe even...

First off, how the hell does Chris have enough money for a Commodore 64? Do that many weens just send him enough money to be able to buy one? (that is, if he didn't find it in the horde like Lesbian Sleepover said)

Also, Chris, wiping your electronics down with Lysol wipes is a dumb idea if you're trying to get grime and dirt off. Look up some good cleaners for electronics first.

He had this since he was a kid. I think it may've belonged to his dad at first.

At least he hasn't discovered "Retro-briting" yet.
