I saw the Bell decision being overturned and felt my heart sink a bit. I do hope Keira takes it to a higher court, because she really blew the lid on that whole operation. Helen Islan, KM, Owen Jones and the rest of the troon team have always been against her. When she first won the decision, they had declared she was responsible for the soft genocide of trans youth. Looking at those NSFW pics, you can see how massive his fists are. I feel for Celene Provost who had to be choked out by him. That puddle of blood coming out of her mouth was no joke. To answer your question, I think it's more than just PTSD. A while back, in 2016, a US Marine published a book on how he was a notable transgender Marine. There was a story about it on Breitbart, IIRC. He had complained about Trump's stance on trans people in the military and whether they had military readiness. This guy didn't so much have PTSD - and for that extent, neither did McLaughlin - but there was a fuckton of narcissism.

From those pics you can see he didn't exactly hate his male body. But he did hate his mother. He hated how she wanted him to die as a man and erase the femininity out of him. I don't think this is a cut-and-dry case of a closeted gay man, either. I really get the impression that this was a man who desperately wanted to be female since he was born, yet liked his male body. He didn't go on puberty blockers or move in with a family member who'd be supportive. He didn't get therapy or talk to anyone about how he was feeling. He wanted to wear a woman's skin, while keeping his male power.

There is a good reason he, as an 'out and proud' transwoman, didn't fight men. That would actually prove something. He chose to fight women, so he can beat their own femininity out of them while keeping his own. These are men who sincerely hate women and yet want to become them. PTSD isn't going to cut it, no matter how much Pink News wants to spin it.

This right here feels like a fairly astute case of linking autism and transgenderism together. A neurotypical would see something like this as a major life change and expect some sort of blowback from doing something like this, even if they think they're doing the right thing. Typically if you break up with your wife (and have friends between you all) you'll expect there might be some pushback with your friend group and enough of a tonal shift to see that something has changed. Troons instead think that telling your friends that you're a completely different human being now and will likely undergo excruciating and mood changing gender hormone therapy as if they've wore reeboks instead of nike shoes. Lol, in what universe? We are literally in bizarro world at this point. If you couldn't decipher the difference between a troon and woman then their would be no need to push this narrative that a male body becomes a female body simply by stating that you're a woman and vice versa (female body becomes male body). The underlying assumption there is that we can clearly see the fucking difference, but we should pretend we don't to validate them. If we couldn't see these differences, a troon would just put on a dress and wig, get breast implants, and put on makeup and we would be baffled when asked to distinguish between them and a woman. Yet, we aren't. These are the people who push for puberty blockers. So, why do they pretend that physical differences don't exist?

This argument never stops being bizarre no matter how much I see it. It basically assumes that we can only differentiate between a man and a woman just from genitalia alone. Humans, like many other animal species are sexually dimorphic, meaning both sexes have noticeable differences in their physical traits (size, facial features, vocal pitches, pheromones, fat distribution, breasts, wide hips, broad shoulders, etc). These are our secondary characteristics, which we use to determine/signal your genitalia with outstanding accuracy (unless intersex or highly androgynous, both of which are rare). People are attracted to the primary and secondary characteristics of a specific sex or both sexes. Our secondary sexual characteristics develop during puberty (when your libido spikes and you really begin noticing those traits), which is why troons push for those puberty blockers.

I'm not even going to bother arguing against this. I just want to know how are these people considered to be sane and rational enough to consent to SRS? Actually, how can we look at SRS and think a man who has his penis inverted or a woman who flays large portions of their arms are sane and rational? We literally psychoanalyze people who get extreme surgeries to be something they aren't ("human Ken doll", "trans racial Korean", or a celeb looak-alike). We know those people are mentally ill yet troons, who fundamentally do the same shit, get a pass.

Maybe some AGPs are really so terrifically ashamed or insecure about their fetish that they really think they can "man" it out of themselves. I tend to think that a lot of these guys are insecure about it and that that's part of why they're often drawn to the idea of latent, innate 'gender identity' -- if you're a troon then you're not "just a fetishist". That said, I think "I needed to destroy the woman inside me" is probably 95% made up cope, in that it didn't really motivate them to join the most hardcore-est military unit they could. And it's really important to note that these guys are disproportionately found in special forces or the marines, they're not army medics or logistics guys.

I think that's because the primary driver is that these men are that their identities are governed by their essentially autistic personal fantasies. It's the same reason that lots of troons are anarchists, metal heads, roiders, nazis, trench-coat atheists and why a lot of these guys come off as so narcissistic and asocial. It's also why this Alan bloke is posting cringey photos of himself with a mace in a 19th century blouse.

I don't buy the "we joined the military to bury our True Selves and prove that we were actually men" line. Troons love to retcon their pasts to create a neat little narrative where it all makes sense in retrospect. Another common one is "every night when I was a child I would pray to God asking him to turn me into a girl." Mhm.

I think the retconning is a big part of it, though it's often not always that they're making things up per se. Rather what often happens in cases like this is that wanting to be a girl was something that happened like once when they were 10, and there was some context that they (of course) never mention. They don't supply the context, because it's just taken as a given that this must have been an expression of latent transness and they don't really want to think too hard, or want to remember why they had that tantrum when they were 10. Firstly, because it would reveal how fleeting it all was and secondly, because the circumstances are usually pretty unflattering. Commonly, it'll be just because they had no friends, got bullied or were just a delinquent.

I strongly suspect that this was what happened with Alan, he then developed some sort of autogynephilia as a teenager. This might plausibly have been etiologically related to prepubescent experiences of wanting to be a girl because he thought it would fix his social problems or something like that. Experiences had at between the ages of 9-12 seem to be really important in seeding paraphilias in people who are predisposed towards developing them. But equally it could have had no real role and ultimately it's impossible to say whether it mattered -- assuming that he didn't make the whole thing up, of course.

As far as the actual reason why so many military and vets troon out, who knows. There are a lot of medical issues that cluster in former military that nobody has been able to yet explain (e.g. ALS). My best guess is just that military life is stressful/traumatic and trooning out is an easy and increasingly-acceptable means of hard resetting your life, so the military experience acts as a trigger for men with latent AGP.

I think it would make sense for guys to troon out immediately after they left the army just because often vets end up finding themselves a bit a drift; under-employed, a bit bored, lacking a sense of purpose. It's someone in that kind of situation that is most likely to have their preexisting AGP become their predominant interest in life.

Those same people you describe still can consent to those crazy body modification surgeries despite the common agreement that it's mental illness. Essentially we've already decided that someone can pay to carve themselves up if they really want to. Is that right? I think it's more complicated than that. Perhaps it would be more productive to point the finger at the surgeons who can't turn down a buck to make a human ken doll or celeb look alike or turn ken into barbie since they're not the mentally ill one and should be able to make informed decisions on medical ethics.
