From what I understand, it's easy to buy female-only seeds for high-grade strains; they're not cheap though. But yeah, it's luck of the draw for whatever midgrade bullshit they probably call top-shelf.

Edit: after doing some theoretical shopping, my rough estimate is that it'd cost about $400-600 for a hydro setup, including grow medium, nutrients, simple lighting, and seeds to grow at least 4-5 large plants (from a dozen seeds). Add another $200-300+ for an exhaust fan+ducting (like what Servpro vans use), and excepting shit like insulation & vaporblock; I didn't bother because why would they.

We had a big Jack Dempsey, a firemouth, and a blood-parrot in a 50gal tank, all about 5yrs old. But our iguana-sized pleco didn't survive the last move, and one of my good friends adopted the rest. The Dempsey is a very smart fish, and grew up with the others so they got along (mostly). I'm looking for a smaller tank to start over again.

Huh? All forms of EDS except one have a genetic test, and the last one has apparently been ID’ed this year although the results are still being modeled. A lot of EDS types have a clear autosomal dominant pattern so you can pick them out even before genetic testing a lot of the time too. POTS has a verifiable test (tilt table and heart monitor) that can be done at a cardiologist’s office. You have a point with fibro. Not sure what GP is.

Alyssa claims she & Amelia have hEDS, which does not have a genetic test (and mild hypermobility is extremely common in young women); if they've identified a genetic test for that one, then there are gonna be a lot of very sad young Floridian women in unnecessary wheelchairs very soon. POTS does have the tilt table test, but it's apparently pretty easy to fuck with and/or to find a doctor who doesn't really care if you pass it or not - you'd have to go ask the medfags over on the munchie thread about that, as I am not one. GP is gastroparesis, which does have a test (stomach emptying something or another I think?), but again it's apparently pretty easy to fuck with.

You're not very aware. That EDS affects the type of tissue that is also found in the GI tract and the blood vessels, which would cover POTS and probably GP (not as familiar with that one). I don't know anything about fibro.
