Pipkin Pippa is clearly an Internet-culture-aware shitposter and her streams are pretty funny sometimes. In her last Minecraft stream she had to explain to a co-worker what "red-pilled" and "coomer" mean. She's almost like a female Jim, if I may be so bold. Yeah, well. The vtubing concept really skyrocketed on the Anglophone Internet when the launch of Hololive EN coincided with the uncertainty of the pandemic and literal fucking race riots - it was comfy, non-political, and seemingly endless entertainment for weebs and the weeb-inclined.

The market is getting oversaturated and I suspect the whole thing is a fad anyway, so five years from now we might be looking back on Vtubers the same way we look at fidget spinners - still around, but nowhere near as ubiquitous or profitable. But until then, let us have our harmless fun, so long as we keep our hands off our penises and the general sperging to a minimum.
