Nice thread. Here is some stuff I remember seeing back when I frequented /vt/

This one time a vtuber from the Hololive Indonesian branch called Kureiji Ollie played a horror game called Phasmophobia and made a variety of groaning sounds during a particularly scary part of the game. For whatever reason, /vt/ became convinced that her boyfriend was secretly fingering her during stream, accompanied with an autistic play-by-play of the clip in question:

Also I remember someone drawing a picture of a pregnant Gawr Gura on /vt/ that got a lot of attention where they depicted her with hyper-realistic shark anatomy complete with detailed gills. If someone has that photo I would appreciate it.

You know what's absolutely fucked up? Some megatard fans have taken it upon themselves to dox the vtubers and then harass their friends and family constantly. Like, some of the vtubers are minors, and these "fans" clearly don't give a shit.

I predict this thread will quickly become a minimum of 80% angry people raging about how much they hate vtubers and calling anyone who likes them a pedo. Which is a real shame, since there is genuinely plenty to laugh at in the /vt/ community, and it's really sad that KF of all places has probably the nicest, most reasonable and level-headed band of them all. The retarded autistic faux-taboos surrounding the fanbase could have a pretty lengthy novel written on them alone.

Luckily nothing really bad is in here. But this drama definitely taught me a lesson and I privated my Disqus. I'm thankful for those who gave advice and tried to take it. Tried to change name but it didn't work.

For real though, I wouldn't go as far as to call most vtube fans pedophiles, but between the obnoxious high-pitched voice, the young anime girl look, and the cutesy aesthetic some of the popular vtubers have, it's easy for an outsider to draw that conclusion. Even the ones that don't look like a young girl, I really don't see what unique thing they bring to the table other than having a cutesy uwu anime girl avatar.

Average posts per minute isn't something that 4stats.io tracks but I don't think that's right. It is, however in the top five of average posts per day and, as of this post, sixth in posts per minute, which is a remarkable level of activity for a niche board which, until I looked at this thread, assumed would have had /toy/ or at a push /his/ level activity.

I remember when Gawr Gura had her first Ringfit Adventure stream there were so many people cunnyposting and typing "UOOOOOOOOOH 😭" that I believe they had the highest post per min for a couple hours, even higher than /pol/

Honestly, anyone making the knee-jerk pedo screech is missing that this is a hobby of mentally ill men on the internet who watch mentally ill women on the internet.
A major example of this is Koopa Fortuna, the definitely-not-astroturfed 4chan vtuber having a fan Discord, essentially getting groomed by fans who wanted a lonely internet woman, possibly meeting up with (and probably fucking) one of those fans, only to get hammered by the completely predictable butthurt of fans who also wanted to do the same thing.

It's practically a constant that half the fans of vtubers have terminal parasocial relationships, and the only reason why it affects the smaller ones more is because people unironically think they have a chance.
