Plagued /vt/ and related vtuber lunacy - Touhou brony console wars

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
FWIW Some aren't even weebs, just terminally online.
Why not watch Twitch then? To be fair Twitch and Vtubers both have some shitty fans. But at least on twitch most of people are real. But even thats been kinda ruined with all of the hot tub streams and Code Miko. Some people really do need get off the internet and touch some grass. Especially the piss guy in OP.

I mean honestly who here is surprised?
VTubers bring together 2 of the most insufferable fanbases there are
Weeaboos and fags who idolize "content creator" e-celebs
Sprinkle some reddit and 4-chan tism on top and you get something truly hellish
I wholeheartedly agree, these people disgust me. Anime and the internet seems to bring the worst out of people.

I want to make the connection that v-tuber fans are eerily similar to the brony craze from around 2010. They have similar features, such as:

- Following an insanely banal topic
- Sexualizing said topic, bronies being creepy because they're cartoon animals, and v-tuber fans being creepy because it's cartoons of real people
- Inserting said topic into anything, such as bringing it up in conversation, changing their avatars to support it, or constantly posting pictures of it
- Getting incredibly angry when mocked or criticized (or when their subject is mocked or criticized), although this is true for any fandom
- Letting this topic infect their daily lives (wearing merch, trying to get their friends or family to watch it, spouting off catchphrases)
- Being obsessed over the "lore" surrounding their favorite character/setting
- Being laughed at by anyone not apart of their interest, with the people who tolerate them only finding them annoying
- The viewers look exactly like you'd imagine them being

The only distinction bronies have is v-tubers don't dress up like their characters or hold conventions, yet...as far as I'm aware of. Also, many v-tuber fans who hear me make this comparison get upset over it, so I guess they have that going for them. So if you ever want to troll these people easily, just take the same approach you would if you wanted to troll bronies.

I looked through /vt/ for myself and I found degeneracy :cryblood:
But that's one of the medals in 4chan and isn't too exclusive of one board. Generally any related to media have those type of threads. The difference if the jannies or mods are answering quickly of those baits.

You know? I met a stupid fuck who's obsessed with v-tubers and i knew he actually is a cuck. Near anytime the fuck appeared, i always remind him about his pathetic existence and always raging like hell with a nice disappearance. So, probably you're right.

For those that don't frequent it and weren't there during the /jp/ times, /vt/ is basically a containment zone for /hlgg/, Hololive Global General. There are split threads for individual vtubers there too if you want more focused discussion of their content. Most of the threads on /vt/ outside of those are people trying to bait reactions out of others by saying something intentionally retarded or asking a question they know will get people arguing with each other. Since it's all Anonymous, you get a wide variety of people either having genuine, normal conversations, and people trying to be "based" for reactions.

Of course, the highest volume of discussion tends to happen when the Vtubers in question are actually live and streaming, because people use /vt/ primarily to discuss the Vtubers they're interested in. During "dead hours" since there aren't any streams going on, thread quality turns to shit and usually devolves into people timelooping arguments until they get bored or people stop responding to it.

Personally I think it's a very interesting place and I've had fun conversations there, just have to know how to filter out the bullshit.

Man, you're inside in the algorithm with that type of comment and having a obvious v-tuber avatar.

This probably doesn't need to be said, but that thread is staged, or rather, the response to the thread (negative) and the thread itself was real, but the OP was obviously trolling when they made it.
There is no "Japanese pedophile Vtuber!" using that avatar. The reddit user was "maxexx" and renamed themselves "ChinChinVtuber" for the troll, the user was promptly banned both from that subreddit and reddit as a whole, the art was lifted from some random guy's art twitter, and the account was fake and never went anywhere. No relation to chin x chin vtuber, which is a newer small Japanese vtuber group.
That meme was so forced and obviously fake that it annoyed me enough to look into it when first started circulating online.
The Japanese "lolicon" (ロリコン) does translate roughly to pedophile though. And while I don't think there are any that call themselves a pedophile lolicon, the childish mannerisms and look some of them have do raise an eyebrow to a relative normie like me.

It's kind of a cheap comparison, but it is definitely as annoying, and pervasive as bronies were.

/vt/ has to be my favourite schizoboard. Unlike /pol/, the vast majority of it's inhabitants are veritable insane pariahs and not bioluminescent congoloids looking to entrap you. There is just something genuinely pure about the inane ramblings and self-destructive behaviour of the boards citizens. Witnessing their unhinged antics amuses me greatly.

This sounds like what people used to say about the /mlp/ board and bronies in general when the phenomena barely got its feet off the ground, right before it exploded into the fucking hurricane cat 5 of internet shitstorms

Would be amusing to see a Fat Ugly Bastard vtuber.
There is one, but i forgot about him, he was created as a joke by Domo and someone rigged him

Edit: lol sniped yes thats the one

By the way expect fuckers from there to come here to bitch or shit the thread, they believe our thread is the inferior and cucked place to discuss the topic just because we are not burning all our money or thirsting like hyenas

And i less than one day. That's good.
Impressive. Guess boss Null must see a very bright future ahead for this thread.
