One of my biggest grievances with this board in particular is that, more so here than anywhere else, people are waiting for it to stop. That's unusual. Most people are just along for the ride. DSP is not hurting you by playing video games for money. He is not doing anything wrong. He is allowed to spend the money he makes however he pleases. It's not up to you to decide who gives money, who receives money, who marries Phil, where Phil gets to live, or whatever. It does feel like genuine jealousy and anger that Phil is able to enable himself through livestreaming games.
I think saying anyone is jealous of Phil's life is a bit of a stretch, it seems horrifying and that's part of what's so interesting about him. He's so clearly unhappy and trapped in this setup he built for himself and has to feign interest in games he obviously hates, resorting to stalling, reading menus forever, just streaming on autopilot. If anything he is a cautionary tale for anyone considering playing games for money, he's proof its a lot more than just playing games and having fun.
As far as the morality of how Phil makes his money and what he does with it, he flat out lies to his audience and directly asks for financial help with crises that do not exist, and these leaks prove that he was lying in order to pay for very trivial shit. When he says "support the stream to see me continue" sure whatever, he is just doing what all streamers do in a slightly more aggressive way, but when he says "I am 100% going to lose my house if we don't hit this tips goal" and turns around and spends $100-200 dollars a day on doordash, and sometimes $1000 in a day on a mobile game, it is hilarious, horrible and definitely worthy of trolling, digging, and general autistic enjoyment.
With his wife, it's just funny to speculate who would want to marry Phil and what the hell their life is like together, no one is shaking their fist at the sky saying "damn phil and his wife". And his living situation is fucking hilarious because he owns two properties he cannot afford and is constantly in very public panic about it when it could be easily solved by downsizing. He's like a goldfish with no ability to learn or plan, and it's crazy to see someone this age refuse to grow, adapt, improve and be so stubborn about avoiding change. He's just a fascinating, frustrating oddity of the pseudo-famous streamer era, and a relic of old YouTube that refused to evolve or disappear.
Nobody is saying "Oh man this is the end of Phil!", it's just proof that most of the theories about where his money went were true, and that is somewhat satisfying (even from a less than clean source) because its all so insane that part of any rational mind rejects spending 40k on gacha. Much worse has happened online to much less deserving people.
