Others have already commented on this, so I'll just state my agreement. As someone who once struggled with a gambling addiction, this is textbook, short-term thinking addict behavior. A gambling addiction isn't concerned with what the best value or most sensible long-term choice, it's desperation and, especially in the context of gambling, putting all your hope in one last small investment bailing you out of a very large, deep hole.



There was one Fred Meyer charge for $231. How in the fuck are two people, who clearly already have a lot of their meals provided by routinely dropping $60+ on Doordash deliveries, managing to spend $231 on groceries for ONE WEEK??

Im gonna weigh in on this one because I think its really fucking funny. We live in the middle of nowhere. Or did. My dad went to the city like once a month. By the time we all graduated. Those trips were about 200 all together. At the grocery stores. Plural.

Now. Mind you. This is once a month. For four people. And a dog. And really timed against about when the dogs food was running out. Also, it would sometimes include things me and my siblings would buy using the Sams Club. As in, oh I like that junk food in bulk. Here is the cash for it. And as we are talking Sams Club and Walmart. Its not just food. Its movies or other knick knacks.

And it keeps going, because the reason its multiple stores is because my Dad likes Grocery Stores with butchers. Where he buys his steak. And his lobster. So plot twist mother fuckers. We eat like goddamn kings! And I cannot conceive of $200 weekly grocery trips. Because even in those monthly trips there are things we aren't buying this month. Like soup and pasta sauces. Or flour and sugar. Or even household shit like toiletries.

And I could keep going. I eat super well. Well I alternate some days between Ramen and Steak. Because once in awhile I want steak, and somedays I just want the delicious easy calories of a bowl of noodles. But I also cook. And I can feed myself for less then a $100 a week. Even if I'm being ridiculous. And thats ignoring that both me and father buy a lot of stupid shit. We are both tabletop gamers. So we have our vices and our wasteful spending. And ultimately, do you know how often either of us have had to beg for our bills? My Dad didn't even take welfare when he got surprise children running a failing business.

Instead he got a real job.

And I've said before that Phil is a special cow to me. Because I feel a connection to him. Like a sort of, he is actually my worst ending. Not that I feel sympathy for him. Christ no. This is fucking hilarious.

TL;DR: I have spending problems, am from a family that spends a lot if money. And even from that perspective, Phils got a goddamn problem. And it couldnt happen to a more deserving guy.

I agree with you on the whole but Phil is a literal scammer on the level of a televangelist, who gaslights and emotionally manipulates people who are either intellectuall disabled or in a vulernable state in order to make them send him THOUSANDS of dollars when they are often on disability or living paycheck to paycheck.

Maybe you're just too deep down the rabbit whole to appreciate what a bad person he is for doing this on a daily basis but people who scam old, disabled or socially isolated people are usually regarded as the lowest, criminal scum they are in the real world.

Ok I've been through the data from @Kosher Dill and the table format is interesting for detail but for visual people who want to see where phils money is going I've made a pie chart.

I've genuinely tried to be as "fair" as possible but with the lack of details on most of the paypal payments I've lumped them all in as WWE champions. I think that's a pretty safe bet as most of the amounts are the exact same as apple payments which are almost certainly mobile game spending.

I've tried to label his business expenses and anything I'm unsure of I've labelled unknown. I've done my best trying to label stuff but as a Britbong I'm not 100% certain on what some of these companies are. His AT&T bill could be a mobile phone or an internet line for example... But I think I've made a safe and fair bet in most cases. Feel free to check the CSV file for the data I've labelled. In the grand scheme of things if I've mislabelled $100 here and there it's not going to change much.

Some of the insurance payments he makes could be car insurance or home insurance, I've just put those down as household expenses. His car payments also includes stuff like maintenance where it was obvious.

It's easy to look at this and say "well he only spent 3% of his income on alcohol"... But that's $1062 in 3 months.

The cult members are going to say "well he only spends 6% on eating out..." but that's $1000 per month. That's fucking unbelievable.

His biggest expense is gotcha gaming, that's $8225.62. Thing of the honey moon kat could have had with that.
