I agree, and it's *more* likely an addict is going to be a shitbag because of the depths they're willing to sink to, to get their fix. But it's also inevitable and we're not going to solve it. DSP needs help from an objective party, a mental health professional, to get to the root of why he gambles, why he wastes money, and clear the way to habits and ways of thinking that aren't self-destructive. Anything else just reinforces his existing delusions.

If you feel genuine concern or anger over his behavior, and want to fix it, tell him to see a therapist. He won't listen, but that's why he's a lolcow.
