Yet another red head gets replaced by a black person lol
And said redhead is a violent psychopath being played by a black person. I'm sure that'll go over well with audiences.
"You CAN'T 'bully' a bully -- it is just called 'evening the score'. Justice, some might even say"
A reminder that Bobby used to bully weaker kids at school; the bullying he received is just 'evening the score', i.e. justice
When did he say that? Who was weak enough to get bullied by Bob of all people?

For a man who idolizes superheroes to the point he pretty much views them as gods, it astounds me Bob doesn't get the basic idea that heroes don't use their powers to harm the innocent.
I liked Guardians of the Galaxy, and I couldn't tell you a single personality trait of Ronan the Hammer Guy.
I only know his name from seeing him in an episode of The Super Hero Squad Show.

Got anything Bob?
I can't wait to see Marvel pull a Hartley Sawyer and casually write off Shang-Chi after building him up for an entire movie.

The only way I can see this work is if it's an adaptation of Emperor Joker and uses the R-rating to show an utterly gruesome montage of Batman dying over and over again.

Does this mean now whenever Bob tries to get political, we can shut him up by saying "Dude, you're from fucking Massachusetts"?

This really shows how little Bob actually understands movies and the work that goes into creating them.

Yes, actors are important in bringing a script to life, but special effects artists, directors, and composers are just as, if not, more important than the cast for a movie.

So does this mean Bob likes Stargirl? Does he hate it? What is he trying to say here?

Time for some education, libraries and museums are different things. To become, an actual factual historian, I had to write papers on these differences. This is not to say that there isn't bleed over. For example there is a third thing called archives. Which are seperate, but seem like they could be different. The idea being that museums show off artifacts, libraries don't really hold artifacts, and archives are to hold artifacts, but not show them off.

Obviously, there are a lot of overlaps. In my neck of the woods Libraries often serve as civic archives. And in fact my current town has a library that serves as a museum. As well as many college libraries will pull triple duty. Because people donate things to them because they will be equipped to hold and preserve such artifacts. Such as local first records and bricks and tools.

But many corporations have archives in another building that no one can look at. I always imagine many big cities have libraries with no artifacts because they are just there to serve a community with access to books and other reading materials. And as an educator historian, and a former child, I have been to plenty of children's museums in which artifact is not a word that means old valuable thing. And more physical item that was used and is now being shown off to children for them to study. And those typically aren't old manuscripts.

And in case you have ever doubted my cred, I fell back into using artifact like some douchebag scientist saying soil. Also I wonder how our haters handle this site having so many academics around here. Because I am gonna guess I am not the smartest or even the most papered man here.

I like how he describes the entire premise of the franchise as being them trying to reach the status of Super Saiyan.
Now that I am done stroking my academic e penis. Lets talk about anime. Super Saiyan didn't get introduced into the manga, and I am going off the English manga, until partway through Namek. Maaaaaybe the Saiyan saga. As I recall there is a conversation with Vegeta and using the Dragon Balls to become a super saiyan. But, that might be an anime thing. And probably a more literal like "super" Saiyan. Like Saiyans that are great. Not Great.

This can be proven that Toriyama didn't know or have any idea what a Super Saiyan really was until he finally laid it out to his editors. Because the movies and anime kept playing with the idea and they kept alluding to transformations that were pretty out there. Like the movies, pupil less golden Kaio Ken thing. To the animes golden ape.

Dead serious. Read his Brick by Brick manifesto: I did a good chunk of that in thread and you can happily see how mentally ill and retarded Bob genuinely is. In it he also admits he kept Mario as a totem, had a religio-drug orgasm in the theater when it played the Wizard, screamed he had no friends but Mario, how Mama Chipman had to bribe him with a SNES to do his fucking work, and how his high school was shit and only there to prevent the Micks, Wops, and Eastern Wogs from hanging out with the Darkies and Spics.

It also reveals that yes, he does just watch and wikis others points like that means he gets a concept. It's also where you really see how he peaked at nine, how he probably thought you could escape to the Mushroom Kingdom, how he only ever read strategy guides and Nintendo Power and is a book shy dolt, and how in his lifetime there will be a Matrioshka Brain that will allow him to bing bing wahoo forever.
I mean most of that I know, I can't bring myself to actually read the book but I've seen a couple of overviews of it. The tarding out about getting internet as a grown man for the sake of a magazine add is one I hadn't heard yet. Bob keeps finding new ways to make me say "Surely he's not THAT maladjusted...right?"

Halo is a story of human desperation triumphing against overwhelming odds. The nascent humanity fighting a theocratic empire and a bioweapon designed to wipe out galaxies. It lends itself well to looking at what humanity will sink to in the fight to survive, what they'll sacrifice, and just how quickly those circumstances can be turned against the people who had to make these hard decisions.
Bob wouldn't know shit about sacrificing against odds. Except maybe devouring extra large pizzas.

Wait a minute, that's a great career choice for Bob. It's the only thing he's good at.

It's probably closer to what Bob likes in superhero stuff (it's pretty inoffensive overall), with a side of "sus motives about what he thinks about the show's lead". Considering a good chunk of the cast is teenage girls Dob Chipman moments may be ahead

The writers of modern cinema tend to be mental children who cannot bear the thought of losing, undergoing a challenge, or being threatened in any way.
That’s exactly it.

These people hate the idea of hard work, challenges and failure. Which is why every one of their OCs are Mary-Sues/Gary-Stus. And why every story is a power fantasy.

As such, they neuter the villains so they're less of a threat than they should be.
You know something else they like to do? They like to neuter the other heroes so their OC(self-insert) looks better.

Why do they do that?

Yeah, that’s another question I have, why are they so against new ideas or independent thoughts?
My theory is that their amygdalas are malfunctioning after years of living in a safe and prosperous society. Having a bum amygdala makes you unable to tell the difference between a horrifying existential threat and a slight inconvenience that merely makes you angry. That's why you have crazy people on Twitter trying to destroy artists who drew their favorite fat character as thin. Because they personally identified with that fat character and they see a non-fat portrayal of them as an attempt to invalidate their very existence. These are people who literally think that words and mean tweets are violence and must be responded to with real world violence or government intervention.

In MovieBob's case, he identitifes with Mario and Capeshit and has wrapped his entire self worth up with what he consooms. If what he consooms changes to the point where he can't enjoy it, it's the same as slitting Bob's throat, in Bob's mind.

Something about the way he talks about it makes me think he only just heard of it. If he did know of it, he only knows the name from his teen years, but never watched it before.

Like @EnemyStand said, I'm guessing he stumbled across some YouTuber or Twitter user talking about it, did a bit of wikipedia scholarship, and is now going to be an expert on all things 80s and 90s anime.

So what do you think Kiwis, what anime will he pretend to be an expert of, if any? I think it has to be not mainstream, wacky, but have a fanbase. I'll throw my hat in with either Ranma 1/2, Wicked City (some cult film review YouTubers covered it a year or two ago), and Princess Tutu ("It sounds like a girly anime, but it's paced like a Marvel movie!").
I thought everyone even vaguely aware of anime in the 90's knew about Project A-ko.

So like, not being able to tell the difference between fiction and reality?

Yeah, I seen those type people on DeviantArt. They were so snarky and cynical. And they were fat like Bob.

I never understood why fat, pseudo-intellectual nerds have to act like a sarcastic jackass all the time.

Keep in mind since fat people are unattractive, they don't have looks. So they need to act like they have something else to offer, so most pick smarts. Of course, if you aren't fucking smart then picking that as your #1 means you really have nothing. They know this, but are too lazy to develop something that would actually give them value.

It was based on an ad for Halo 3 I think. It gets better. He says the covenant are racially diverse good guys.

Expecting anything deeper than that would mean Bob would have to play it, which he clearly hasn't.
Lord give me strength. One I'm surprised Thinker Bob is so sympathetic to an empire of Believers. Two, the covenant is racially diverse because they've effectively just been enslaving everyone. Also, their goal is literally fire the Halos which will nuke the Milky Way.

I wonder if Bob is just unaware that you can dislike something without wildly misinterpreting it?

Oh, I'm sure a Thinker like Bob would be keenly aware of the problems of letting your emotions control your ability to interpret things. That's the sort of thing that you'd see from the Sega Believers he fought in the jungles of Vietnam.

Yes, but A-ko was not mainstream the way Akira, Ghost in the Shell, and Evangelion were. Even normies who didn't watch anime will recognise those names. A-ko is popular among anime fans, but mention it to a normie and they won't know what you're talking about. The only anime fans who don't know of it are likely younger people who only know anime as Full Metal Alchemist and Attack on Titan.

If he was just getting into old anime and wanted to share A-ko, that would be fine, but instead he's trying to pass it off as if he's always been into anime and is dropping obscure knowledge.

I wonder if Bob is just unaware that you can dislike something without wildly misinterpreting it?
I think he's aware, he just doesn't give enough of a shit to look into it beyond finding ammo to discredit people he sees as his enemies.

He already had his mind made up. Halo fans were dude bro jocks shouting slurs on Xbox Live and trying to kill Nintendo. When he saw the ad on TV, he saw humans vs a wide verity of enemies, and a guy who's eyes turn blue before putting on Master Chief armour. That supported the strawman in his head, so he ran with it.
