I can't help but to think at his parents back in CT... I do not hate the man, obviously, as he has done nothing to me. I just find him funny, annoying and, to an extent, incredibly lucky in his way. He managed to have what millions of young creators dreamt of, and he had it for years. Money, clout, "fame", relationship(s), and so on. I find it sad and a shame he throwed it all away by living each day like the last and poor management skills, poor anticipation, inability to comprehend basic life skills and overwhelming entitlement. Should he had listened to some fans and/or tractors alike, he would have managed a relatively enviable success on his own.
He is a lolcow alright, but if we ever remove the "lol" from it, dude is just a depressing flabby 40 years old addict, with a sad marriage, a sad life, and some sad parents and former friends, who had watched his long descent into parody not to their satisfaction or laughs I guess...
It's right, we should just "enjoy" the show, not doing anything stupid, and taking this opportunity to reflect on our owns flaws, and to learn how to avoid this kind of shit, regardless of how intelligent, capable or safe we think we are. He thinks that way, and look how it had turned for him.
Nobody wants Good Ol' Phil out of our lives for real, and I certainly wouldn't be happy to know he's sick or homeless. He deserves a lesson, and most important, some help, but he never harmed any of us. He's just a concentrate of common human flaws, we can all find a part of him that reflects on us. Difference is, we try, we struggle, we are aware of it, and in the end we overcome.
