I think in the heat of the moment he decided to kill her, thought he could cover it up as leaving without her and she got lost. There's no way he thought there'd be this much attention on it and when that other YouTuber saw the car and they found the body he knew he was fucked.

These are my thoughts as well. They were already getting in physical fights and hitting & scratching each other. I think the violence just escalated until he accidentally killed her.

Tangentially related but it reminds me of this story about a body that was found in a peat bog. A guy copped to the murder of his wife because he thought it was her body, then it turned out that the body was not his wife, it was in fact 1700 years old.
Point is, whether it's her body or not, if the boyfriend has not done the smart thing and killed himself already, the police will no doubt tell him it's her body to get him to spill his guts.

I was friends w/ a coroner, of a major city, who said the amount of bodies that were pulled out of the local waterways alone, were so frequent, they had stacks of bodies in storage, unknown Doe’s. Not to say it's impossible for someone to survive out there, people do it all the time on the run from the law. But I seem to recall hearing they were from the Northeast like Maine or something, that Florida's swamps are a totally different environment.

Having a Youtube channel is a big factor even if it's not a big channel. People will watch the videos and want more. So the news delivers. Also, I think after Chris Watts people are far more wary of homicides that have a domestic factor. That body cam footage is gold.
