Older people selling their houses prefer to sell to an investor who can cut them a check in full over a family who have to pay with a mortgage. You cant walk up and get a good paying job regardless of education level or training as older people were able to; getting off the boat from war and people bending over to hire you and the government paying for education. People can succeed, but it's a different, more complicated world

yea to not see the world is vastly different and being born in America isn't a 'gift' by virtue of itself. Are living conditions better than the rest of the world? Generally sure. Are you more likely to 'succeed' because you are an America? No. The comment about older people with multiple investment properties essentially creating a 'renting class' is very real. Also there are giant firms such as Vanguard/Blackrock (chinese) buying properties and creating huge eco systems for renters as well.

The American dream has always been 'buy house have family'. If you're in a position where you're paying rent constantly that vastly outpaces your income/promotion then you can never reach that. Government also doesn't help by creating conditions for section 8 housing and paying upwards of a grand for rent. Ex. I had a solid apartment 2 room, balcony, bath, kitchen for 700 a month...by the time I left it was 900 a month and my neighbors were a bunch of hoodrats playing ghetto music at all hours with drug deals sitting in the parking lot. Section 8 happened so the owners knew the government would subsidize up to a certain amount and theres no shortage of poor fucks so why keep the rent low? Did amenities increase? no. Did building management fix any of the issues such as 10 year old carpeting? no. Shootings started happening and I saw the police more though. Woohoo. Luckily I will be inheriting far more than many ever will and rn I have a plan for myself that will not only keep me afloat but could potentially turn me into one of those 'investment property' fucks before I reach 'inheritance lifecycle'.

tbh it was a major Canadian election its like drinking during our Presidential or something like midterms. Also I'd much rather have biden as president than trudeau so that would cause me to drink heavily

Have you seen Australia where they literally have martial law and antilockdown protestors are quite literally fighting the police like they're Antifa? Canada is in a very similar spot although a bit more polite about it so it looks better.

I live in the states and in one that is giving the finger to the federal government. I'm also aware there are multiple companies not on board with Biden's status quo even if they largely support the democrats so the autocratic control over America isn't as cut and dry which gives me hope.

Seems like its the opinion of their generation. Both him and Josh have this faggy snivieling attitude where they constantly run from their problems instead of trying to improve their situation in their home countries. How are we gonna win anything if you guys just cut and run at the first sign of trouble? But i supose its one of the big problems of the new world that they don't have any ties to their ancestry.
