think was extra funny about this in hindsight was when thinking about moving it was between washington state and florida. which is another state prone to getting battered by natural disasters. back when florida was getting hit by hurricanes I wondered how the alternate universe phil that chose to live in florida would have dealt with it. i mean just picture it, mandatory evacuations, gas stations out of fuel, house possibly going to be destroyed, gridlocked traffic for a guy who can't drive for long periods because of his back. him ignoring the evacuation order and then whining when electricity and water dies out and how despite warnings of "if you don't get out now, you're on your own" from the emergency response people.
to phil if you're reading this which you probably are, I don't wish natural disasters to happen to anybody but when (not if, because these will happen eventually), these happen to you, your comments about how people shouldn't live in places that flood/get destroyed every year are going to age so well. not many people have the luxury of choosing where they live and when they get dealt a bad hand you can plan and work around it.
