That's my experience too, thank fuck, but the mass adoption of smartphones plus social media makes it so the mainstream exposure we're hoping for is filtered through a lot of those "irredeemable shitholes" - the way people consume information now means you don't have to be a terminally online autist to fall for gender brainrot, you just have to glance at the front page of whichever shithole you visit for a dose of news and buy in to the false consensus being rammed down your throat 24/7.

The thing you have to remember, though, is that relatively few people actively use Twitter, or other social media. 186 million 'active' users (however they define that term) really isn't a lot on a planet of 7+ billion people; especially when a lot of those users will only use the service for their own niche interests like sports.

Out of all my friends and family I really don't know anyone who is still an active Twitter user, though many of them have an account, less still use Reddit; the most active site they're still on is either Facebook or Instagram but both are insulated and mainly just people they know that they're interacting with so less exposure to troon insanity.

TL;DR The Internet is totally lost in its current form, but I still believe in broader terms the troon infestation isn't as bad as it (understandably) seems when you spend your time browsing threads like this.
