It was said by @Mask_de_SMITH about the whole rant about people doing things that they shouldn't and I'm not going to tread over his old ground, but that whole fucking rant he did about it is so perfectly emblematic of why Phil is always going to be in a perpetual state of losing. Phil wants everything to stay the way it is, from now to the end of time. He doesn't want to think about how to change anything about his life, his career, or himself. The only thing we all really have absolute control over is ourselves, our goals, and our actions. As much of a meme as climbing Everest has become (You can pay to get guided up the mountain through the paths that have been blazed by people who did it before in worse gear without professionals who have climbed the damn thing 30 times in the last year) it's about picking a challenge and working until you achieve said challenge.

Remember bodybuilder Phil? That old mare he likes to drag out to show off sometimes? Remember his attempts to be the best at SF/MvC2 in the world? Remember all the times he promises to make changes to the stream like green screens? Fuck, remember KO gaming? All of these things are his history of trying to climb his own Everests and then going home after he trips a once or twice. That's the big root of most of his bitterness about everyone, about why he has so many issues, encapsulated into one simple rant. People who do things that are difficult, or rebuild after a disaster, or try to innovate or explore, he doesn't understand those people because those people are at his opposite end.

Mild PL: I was a hockey brat. I remember one day driving home from the rink and my dad asking me "Drave, do you want to play hockey?" and I didn't know why until he pointed out that for the past few weeks I'd been dogging it. He told me that there's no point in spending the money for me to play if I wasn't even going to try and he'd rather put the money towards a sport or activity I cared about. And one of the things that stuck with me was that there's nothing wrong with not wanting to do something, but the worst thing was wanting to do something, but not putting your best into it. Then, it's not worth the time, effort, money, or anything else. I never made the NHL, and I was never a great hockey player, but I put everything I could into it after that.

Phil's not a quitter, I think that would be an inaccurate statement. Phil's a never-starter. If it can't be done easily, he won't even bother to do it. I know that's something we are all aware of, but I think if you ever need the perfect example of this shit attitude, look no further than that one video.

Great post. I definitely agree, and what makes it worse is that he had a free pass to the stratosphere and somehow he squandered it by being SO. FUCKING. LAZY.

Phil wants everything to stay the way it is, from now to the end of time
This is the only part I'd change, no he doesn't want things to stay the way they are he wants the same amount he's getting right now but for doing less he's said it before his hopes for his streaming career is making the same amount of money in less time on camera.

It's almost as if they are talking about a cult. Plus the shit Phil said in his "secret" discord is a rephrasing of this!

From scammers, to gambling addicts, to cult leaders, poor piggy can't catch a break. He has to be reminded every time he plays these "detective" games that what he does is fucking gross and despicable.

I bet it weighs on him mentally.

Edit: what's with him always having behind the scenes tips now? Is he trying to avoid bringing those up in the hopes he can milk his other whales first?

Highly defeated and very unconvincing behind the scenes tip from 1MinuteMan

Even his chat is shitting on him predicting who it will be this time :story:

Also is it me, or does he unusually subdued?
Lots of people have noticed it. He’s biding him time while trying to come up with a story about the leak. He’s calmed down on the begging a little and his usually spiel about needing money for his day off is MIA.

I can’t wait when Mt. Burnell blows his top and we get gold dust rained down upon us.

While I can agree the information that was obtained was illegal. But I cannot wait for the whole "He broke the law" schtick he'll pull. The salt he'll produce will keep my popcorn salted for weeks to come.

“Yeah I squandered 10’s of thousands of dollars on intangible pictures of wrestlers but you wouldn’t know about that if those dang dirty trolls didn’t break the law!”

Something like that I’d imagine.

For a guy who cares about the story and game, he keeps looking away from it. As if he isn't actually paying attention to it.

I know he's looking at chat but goddamn is that setup antithetical to streaming. Also is it me, or does he unusually subdued?

there's no point him paying attention when he's just gonna watch a 20min youtube video where IGN summarises the entire game for him

That would be admitting to it being true, and he can't be doing that. It would scare away the "silent majority" and khat agrees with him

Really he can't admit it because of what else it would be admitting on top of it. Champions, how wasteful he is with money and that his claims of bills are bullshit. His only shot at dealing with it is to never acknowledge it, ever.

Someone tipped $25 and sent this:

Phil, are you checking the tips? Of course not.

Edit: This guy became a member a few days ago and immediately started tipping/sending superchats.
It's super nice to see the silent majority finally stepping up and doing their part.

The organic growth is through the roof, we should all be ashamed that we ever doubted Phill.

He's down to 160 viewers

absolutely pathetic. 6 months ago, even 300 was unthinkable during slow playthroughs... now he's getting 160 on a PREMIERE stream. Imagine the numbers in 45 days of playing this shit.
Mind you, he paid for the deluxe edition of Lost Judgement simply because it gave views views views early access, everybody knows he’ll just ignore the future DLC.

It's telling how many of his viewers were there to troll. Also he's playing a game that people know won't be fun to watch him play.

The RGG series is only fun to watch if it's either incredibly skilled gameplay (5 shinada Tod combos or no damage runs against bosses) or the sub stories out of context. Phil provides neither.

Also his refusal to acknowledge the leaks has lead many to be bored of waiting.
