How....how do people like this exist? Where they lie straight to your face about not trying to fuck over Vic anymore and they do it out in the public. Its mind boggling. He gains nothing (like he said) just hurt a guy WHO DOESN'T KNOW HIM OR THE PERSON "SEXUALLY ASSAULTED"
I can sorta speak to this.
Emmett happens to be in a "WW neutral" Discord that I've been a part of for longer than him. I, and a few others, have had some (actually remarkably cordial) conversations with him about the Vic stuff.
Emmett believes that cancel culture is some sort of made up thing. To quote him directly: "Cancel culture is when people talk on the internet and then corporations make decisions." Emmett then proceeded to imply, bizarrely, that Napoleon's exile (which, if you know your history, he signed off) is like cancel culture and the Vic situation.

Finally, he'll claim that even though he talks to cons (he does it OPENLY on Twitter and Facebook, so
no shit), he's not responsible for the choices they make. IOW,
he is not cancelling Vic, but rather the con is. Alternatively, he'll claim he only plays a small part in the input cons receive, and that he's being unfairly singled out amongst some huge groundswell of opposition against Vic.
It's as dumb as it sounds. It's bad sophistry. IMO, he's doing exactly what you think he's doing.
This whole conversation happened back in May. Though kept very polite, it made my head hurt. I think further debate would be pointless.
