You all might laugh about that, but I just can't different for Fennah's content that gave me so much motivation and inspiration, even if it has so many faults it had and still has this something that draws me so much into it. I can watch his animation/voice tests or animatics endless and enjoy them a lot, always having a little excited heart-jump when a video comes out.

It's sad his arrogance and rejection of criticism destroys something that was once so strange but special, unique and mostly rooted for and loved (excuse the cringe speech). Now the more time passes and the more stuff or previews he releases, the more it becomes like a blank paper where you throw so many colours in, that it just becomes an unrecognizable brown-purple-ish mess. More and more fans come and say that it gets worse and worse, but he believes so much that if time had passed he must have gotten better. He only got better at modeling, environment/shading and nothing else. The animation still stays the same, which is good nostalgic (except for the constant jiggling), but has improved sligthly over all these years. The writing...
I think he hasn't got the maturity yet for writing something. I know Eragon was written by a fifteen year old, but he intensively occupied himself with studying writing and if you read Eragon you know he really cared and did all he could to make it a good book, and it became quite well in the end, especially for a fifteen year old.

With Fennah's writing, it seems he did not study it at all but thinks that if he read books he must be surely able to write a book too. I will not even say it seems, it can be seen instantly, he did not research. He certainly read books with rich wording, but he might not notice that these are used with sense and not thrown around just to have language. One thing I'm very concerned about is the sheer amount of characters he has, and the thing is, they are with a huge certainity used only as plot device. Most of their designs do not fit with the main cast, and that is fact enough that he just needed a character for something and just did one without thinking much, because plot needs it.
Also, so far what I've seen of Lucy she is the most dislikeable bitch out of all there. Certainly inherited most of Sam's personality, his favourite bean. Celia seems to be the most normal/human one. I don't even want to know what Hyzenthlay has for a role because god thank you already for destroying her design.

In my eyes, he cares. But he cares not as much as he should. If he'd really, really care, he would listen to criticism and study about writing, as he would want to make it the best thing possible. The characters and the book should be his "piece of heart", like a creator that couldn't bear to let go of his franchise under any circumstances, as he's grown too attached to it and loves it too much to not be passionate about it.
Maybe he lost his interest in animating and all of it, as he has lost interest in his characters and story- at his own fault, because he deformed them to something he even himself doesn't really like and care for anymore. It's strange. Back then he couldn't get off it, but now he cares less and less, with much fewer content coming out because he hasn't the motivation to do it. He posts once in a very while, barely any previews of anything but book. Back then he couldn't stop with posting animation previews or character models.
He isn't as passionate about it as he once was. But he did it himself. Congratulations, you destroyed your love - why, I wonder? Not to mention it appeared quite short for me that he planned a whole complex story out in like two years for six 700 page books. This is way too short of time to have planned out a story this long and this complex as he claims.

I hope for the book to be at least "good enough"to not leave me afterwards with an inner emptiness with thoughts about what I've just read. But I have a feeling it won't be good.

Still surprising how infatuated you are by his work, either you have a low bar, or not aware of the other good artistic material that's out there, more so on the 3D side. As someone familiar with 3D artwork, artists, and programs it's as plain as day that his work is mediocre. The only thing sam had going for him was that he is prolific and made animations rather quickly.

Obviously to each their own, but being aware of other artists that personally inspire me, less so with writers, it seems like that inspiration can come from more quality sources.

I will say it again, Sam got his following not because of his quality but because he put his work on youtube and he was quick at it. he gained his following much like other youtube animators would, except he did 3D and people seem to think 3D is complex and technical compared to 2D animation.

SURPRISE, IT'S NOT.

3D animation is levels less of a hassle than 2D but people that don't know anything about 3D assume its difficult and that Sam must be an artistic genius.


On the writing side, I would bet you could find writers on DA... you know the sort of crowd that likes writing like this... that have more thoughtful worlds, but they don't have free artwork and voices to really bring them to life.

His creatures reproduce by fighting each other, then the loser gets bukkaked on, and the child bursts out of the "mother" after its eaten all of its siblings inside. Also the sex of the creature doesn't matter and I don't know why he has things like thicc furry lesbians other then it's a fetish. The whole thing is a fetish. That's the reason when I found Fennah I instantly got hooked. Finally something original! Not a copycat of Warriors or else! Don't blame me, if I had more options to pick from, I probably would. But with so scarce stuff, I can't be picky. That's why I call it unique and special, because among all youtube animation, it kind of is. Probably a big reason why people are into it and "love" it so much. It's mostly bad, but better than all the abominal super-Warriors-cringe-DeviantArtFurry-shit. Wow, I just found out the real reason why I like it so much.

Helluva Boss is... okay. I watch it when a new episode comes out, but I'm not into it. It's meh to me.

Then there are fanfiction series which have mostly to do with Warriors. They are a little bit more bearable but also on the bad side.
The rest is cringe and crappy OC animations which are DA level most of the time, 99%.
So I went in search for webtoons.

Well not sure if it's your taste, since you seem to like wacky characters and creatures and stuff. or are just a furry. If that's what you look up you are going to get mostly crap. I suggest Ian herbert for actually good 3D animation, though he might fall more into VFX, though he does do 3D sets and machine animations. (look up his dynamo series). Any blender nation projects really.

I don't think you are looking in the right places. To me, fennah falls in the deviant art circle, hype train bullshit that's more quantity over quality. That's your problem.

I think fennah is just an early adopter of 3D storytelling, its a thing that is going to become more prevalent in the future, and stuff like fennahs work will eventually become obscure, once people realize how EZ it is to plop a 3D character in front of them in blender using a shadow catcher and Fspy, there will be more like him but better.

I tell you, alien animal creatures are EZ to do in 3D, you can't really uncanny valley them because they don't really look like anything.
