I live in Philadelphia. Wawa stores have signs up saying that due to supply chain issues their store brand drinks may be out of stock. They ain't kiddin' either. Many brands of protein bars and drinks as well as the healthier snacks are barely being restocked. Giant supermarket has quite a few things that aren't restocked, including many gluten free products and Cape Cod brand chips. They also have a shortage of energy drinks, Coke with coffee (no one has the sugar free one that seems to sell out first all the time). Sugar free Starbucks Triple Shot is also sold out everywhere I look save for Target in rare occasion.
Walgreens has almost no drinks and they didn't get half their Halloween decorations and some of the single serve candy. They've looked like an apocalypse store for months. I don't know if every Walgreens is like this. But the one I went to is. They also had their computer system damaged by Ida and prescription processing weas slow and when I called to refill the automatic message was glitchy and contained parts of another message. It was weird. An employee also told me that the people they hire don't show up. I don't know if this issue is widespread in stores. But if people got too comfy on unemployment it may be the case.
Walgreens is also short on cold and allergy medicine, Ensure, food and beverage thickener and other products for people who have trouble eating normally. They have very few cases of water, bottles of juice and milk. No Talenti Gelato or Ben & Jerry's has been restocked in a long time.
There's almost no shampoo, cleaning products, lotion or candles.
An interesting thing though, all the bodegas are stocked. They may not have the same variety but they never seem to run out of essentials like paper and cleaning products, canned goods, dairy and drinks. It was the same during the height of the pandemic.
