Does the world need another Skylanders game with mini figs? I really wish this microtransaction trend would die already! It's depressing when the The Simpsons, Portal, movies, Ect. are being milked in it. I'm already predicting this with be the new Amiibos and will sell out.

I will lost faith in humanity. :c

Well I don't think this will be the new amiibo's with the sense of money. I think this is going to be similar to Disney infinity where they did actually have enough stock and will continue to make more because of that.

they are appealing to the nerds now, they are doing a Back to the future and a Doctor Who set

Honestly Disney infinity and Skylanders have pretty much beaten this already.

The prices for these toys are around £100 for the starter pack. the upcoming disney infinity 3.0 is £50

Though do have to admit i am kind of interested in the doctor who stuff.

Bumping this thread because it comes out on Sunday or some time next week. Can't wait to see Portal and The Simpsons get molested by Legos.

This would work much better if you didn't have to buy all the LEGO stuff and you had all the characters and levels with the game. I mean if you take Batman, Doctor Who, and Portal and put it all into one game, people are gonna buy it anyway. You are still going to get a shitload of money whether you use the Skylanders formula or not.

It's so much fun, not gonna lie. Gandalf driving the bat mobile to try and stop the Joker from stealing uranium from Springfield Nuclear Plant sold me on it pretty fast. Also the toy pad is a core gameplay element and is heavily used in puzzle solving.

I still think this is a product specifically designed to grab all of Chris's money.
It took balls to try to get into the Autist Bait game market like this when there's so many already, but they really got a great mix of licenses for it.

I got to play a good portion of this game in the last week because my younger relatives have it. The game itself is great but putting the Legos together, plus extra money for DLC sucks ass. If you ever want to buy this game wait until everything is about half price or less. If you just want to buy the start pack, the main game is about 10 to 15 hours long with everyone in it. Level pack are just open worlds and an hour long main mission level by itself.

I was shocked how good this game was but sadly too expensive.

Why can't the reverse happen and there be more video game based LEGO sets? I dig what exists in aftermarket community pieces, but yeah, with games it just becomes another DLC Nightmare.

EDIT: I know there are actual Tie-In sets in parallel to the game but I don't see Lego Dimensions as a game lasting that long. Plus I am not /that/ into Back to the Future.

They had MegaBlocks Halo, which iirc are the kind that are just big enough to work with Legos (I haven't played with mainline legos since I was 12). I definitely agree with that notion though.

Totally agree - Honestly, I'm not sure I could resist buying a proper LEGO GLaDOS if one ever got made.

Though at least for BttF if you just want the LEGO stuff, the 3-in-1 DeLorean pretty much is everything you could want from combining LEGO with the franchise.

Last time (read: Nearly an entire pre-high-school year span ago) I played with Mega Blocks and Lego in the same dimension it didn't end well. Parts broke or got warped. I hope those Halo figures (which look hella awesome I admit), stand the test of time with interconnection.

Bumping this thread because i was playing this with my godson, he buyed the game recently and this happen

i was laughing for hours like holy shit

also GLaDOS has a thing for daleks

So theoretically, because this is a lego product it's going to cost 11 billion dollars because Lego has a monopoly on Lego
I know nothing about the game other than the cardboard standee that's outside gamestop and apparently they have Scooby Doo? Do kids even care about Scooby doo?
