Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Chuck Huber is getting the Google Doc, Twit Longer treatment. One of the disgruntled jannies in his Now Voice This! discord with admin access deleted the server. He/They hoped it would put an end to the competition and claimed they did it to help Chuck "save face".
More discord jannies are telling their truths using the #NowEndThis hashtag and tagging Funimation. These two new accounts are from a couple. They say the server was their idea and that they took their moderation duties so seriously, they didn't even take a break while dealing with their father's funeral. Their partner, also a moderator, was sweeping up the chats while homeless. They complain about the lack of pay, Chuck's hands off approach to moderation, how hard it was for them to schedule his Q&A events, his unwillingness to talk to them directly, and the emotional and mental stress the work was. They decided they couldn't deal with this anymore and deleted the discord, "Because who would've been left to dealt with any fire that would've came in the NVT server?"

The longer story, from the homeless moderator, is worth checking out. They go off the deep end in the second half capitalizing RANDOM WORDS and claim that DESPITE the above DESPITE EVERYTHING, they WILL have a career. #NOWENDTHIS

Shane Holmberg has tweeted that A-Kon spent thousands of dollars to hire private security specifically to follow that autistic fan around the convention and prevent him from getting to Terri Doty (which they failed to do). He says that there was a prior incident where he got right in her face and screamed at her. Despite this, he was not banned from the convention and some Texas cons reportedly let him in for free.

I'm having a hard time reconciling the allegation that he was a clear and present danger, yet they still let him in and perhaps even comped him a badge? I think Chuck was right to be worried about rent-a-cops stalking someone with special needs.

I used to volunteer for A-Kon and I remember hearing about this but only as a rumor from other volunteers. We banned and removed attendees for less, yelling in a guest's face and making them feel unsafe would have ensured you didn't come back. He says they had to hire private security for thousands, who still failed to do their job, just for one convention attendee? Maybe the con security was too busy grooming kids?

One final thought about @Shane_Yes_That_One:

He has, in the past, tried to "wallpaper" over his A-Kon embarrassment by claiming he simply resigned. He's probably still doing that. You all follow this way more than I do now.

To my mind, when your employer says "I want your resignation on my desk by x," that's as close to a firing as you can get without outright being fired. It's a magnanimous act by your employer to allow you to save a little face (and avoid potential legal problems for them).

I feel sorry for A-Kon here, because the SOP for anything professionally run is to never publicly talk about the faggotry of people you parted ways with. Dumbass forced their hand, and has only himself to blame for the mockery he has endured.

My only disappointment in all this is they apparently forced him out for alcoholism. I had good money on him being forced out for playing grab-ass. Given the subject matter of the Vic situation, that would have been a GREAT coda for the Shoe Eater. I still wanna believe he did at some point, maybe while drunk, and we just haven't seen the evidence yet. He DID say something about doing things at cons he now regrets, and the thing with his wife is still gross.

So Shane hates autistic people. Good to know. I guess he hates his step son than.

Elections over so he has to pretend to be in the convention scene again for attention.

Vic has been the focus of the Twitter mob when this began (HaberGaiden not withstanding), I knew it was a matter of time before Weeb Wars shifted to other targets.
We've seen since then Quinton Flynn, James Arnold, Karen Straussman, and Chuck Huber be the center of drama.
There is another voice actress that's been brought up here who is being targeted because she supported Trump, but I can't think of her name at the moment.

The best thing about Shane is that even if Vic's appeal came back as AFFIRMED on everything, Shane is STILL a failure and a creepy-ass person. He'd probably do some victory laps, but it would be short-lived and pyrrhic. I will never apologize for poking fun at Shane. Win-win.

I don't even think people in KV really like him all that much either. Like I know for a fact that ReiBear/SaggyMelonz thinks he's a piece of shit, even though she was in his gay discord for a while. Shane turned her against Shane. Not anybody in ISWV. Shane's worst enemy is Shane.

That woman was Alison Viktorin, whose best known role was voicing Detective Conan in Case Closed. She actually appeared on a iHeart radio podcast to talk about this.

Why would they like a confirmed groomer? He's everything they claim Vic to be. Same goes with Ron. Ron's already getting people on his side pissed at him.

Yeah this place is a dumpster fire.
The GlassDoor reviews pretty much confirms this.

Yes and no. If you expect moral consistency from these people, you'll experience disappointment forever.

They'll claim Vic is horrible to women, but give Ron a pass for throwing an RCA remote at his ex and threatening to kill her dog.
They'll bitch about Nick's blackface, but fall over themselves to excuse Jessi Pridewhore's blackBODY. Also, no means no, but yes also means no if you are jaded over a drunken one-night-stand which doesn't ultimately result in Habberkorn becoming your husbando.

This SJW shit is more a cudgel than an end goal.

I think the distaste or disinterest for Shane has more to do with the fact that Shane is so fucking stupid that they can't fool themselves into believing he's not fucking stupid. To accomplish that feat, they'd have to take a quantity of mind-altering drugs equivalent to that which would send an elephant into cardiac arrest.

As for Ron, ehhh... maybe. I know Emmett Plant once confided that he wishes Ron would just shut the fuck up. And Emmett is still crusading to get Vic banned from everything, so I don't think it can be said he's completely chilled out or anything.

We're not the only ones to see the stupidity. They are just loathe to admit it most times.

That's because such people are useful idiots. Once they're no longer useful they'll be turned on. It always happens.

Why would anyone work there?
Fanboyism.

When I was a lad, I thought working at Electronics Boutique was a pretty cool gig. After all, VIDYA GAMES! You know the product. You like the product. You get to take games home with you to try. Who cares if the pay is barely above minimum wage and the District Manager is a slave driver? You don't know any better.

Then, one day, it hits you: Your enjoyment of the product you peddle and your enjoyment of working in the industry that sells that product can be worlds apart. The people that quit and left those reviews on Glassdoor probably came to that realization at some point too. Wouldn't surprise me if more than a few of them were anime fans before they applied for the job.
