Apex Legends is by far the more successful game and as soon as it took off, most people realized that Respawn was no longer the "Titanfall" company and would become the "Apex" company. (See Also Epic Games and Fortnite, Activison and COD, EA and FIFA, and so on). People who liked Titanfall don't want it be a "dead" game, despite Titanfall 1 getting no support and being 100% dead (the game is literally nearly unplayable due to rampant hacking) and Titanfall 2 not having much added to the game and being 5 years old at this point. It'll probably join the "THIS GAME ISN'T DEAD!!!!" pile of games that are in fact dead (see also - Armored Core, Darkstalkers, Parasite Eve, Rival Schools, River City X, and so on) and them tweeting about it is essentially throwing gas on a fire.
