Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

It is interesting that political analysts make that distinction, but I suppose it makes sense in hindsight.

Does that mean the GOP has more hardened support, but less consistent ones, while DNC has less hardened support, but more consistent ones, given past trends? After all, lower turnout has historically favoured the GOP.
Correct. Not much more to say than that.

What you're describing is the natural evolution of political movements. Someone builds upon the groundwork made by the people before them, and seizes the opportunities available in the present. You don't need some kind of overarching plan for it. If you're arguing is that "democrats in the 50s wanted complete power and worked towards it", then congratulations: you stated the obvious for any political entity.
My argument was the quote at the end.

Correction, there is one more thing to add to this.

It's not only important who will vote for who, but who is likely to vote for who. It is why polls often only count in likely voters rather than just base opinion. It is why I, in this very thread, stressed how the early fuckups of the admin like completely removing debt relief off the table were such massive things. Using our language here, college-age voters are consistent voters for democrats. If they vote, they largely vote Blue. The problem is that they are also absolutely finicky and unreliable voters, so such policy depresses an already hard-to-get-out vote.

An example of hardened votes is a massive chunk of the black vote, and is why the cracks showing in it are interesting. They vote, a lot, and vote nearly solid blue. And are easy to get out to the polls.

It should've been Hillary
legit question... aside from your old lady boner, what exactly to you would be the reason why Hilary would have been a good candidate for presidency?

You do realize that her finger was trigger-happy on that "go to war" button, which was one of the reasons why everyone was scared as fuck for her to be president in the first place, right? You do realize that she's got so many skeletons in the closet she could decorate her house for Halloween with them, right? You do realize that she doesn't give two fucks about the common people with more evidence coming out that she hates everyone and everything that doesn't bend down to her every whim, right?

I think that bill is going up in flames before Biden's eyes.
It should've been Hillary but she couldn't beat the BBC.
We keep telling you it was because we couldn't trust her not to feed a busload of children into a meat grinder.

I don't think he actually likes Hillary. It's a shtick and acknowledgement that even though she is a terrible wicked bitch she was actually hot up until 2008.

  1. I didn't care for Trump at the time, so the logical option at the time was Hillary. I was starting college at the time, so take that what you will.
  2. Hillary reminded me of a grandmother figure in my life. Something about her persistence to right-wing heckling and conspiracy is nothing short of astounding to witness.
  3. Of all the Democrat female figures, she appears to be more sane.
  4. I'm aware of the continuation of Middle East intervention during the 21st century. Both parties played a role into that forever war, which Trump tried to get us out of. I believe Hillary stepped out of that warmongering figure as a sense of maturity and realization that she was playing the wrong cards for power.
  5. I wanted to see a female president. Tulsi is the next best thing. Kamela is outright unlikable and bigoted towards "her own people."

They're so easy to get out to the polls even their dead grandmas vote blue.

Pelosi snuck in and passed an abortion bill that's on par with China and Best Korea. Probably won't pass the senate but whatever.

Pelosi's abortion-on-demand bill, which passed without media scrutiny, would allow elective abortion up until birth. This would add the United States to a list of only seven countries with such an extreme policy—the others include North Korea and China. Only one Democrat in the House voted against the bill.

In addition to allowing abortion up until birth, the bill legalizes sex-selective abortion and abortion based on a genetic diagnosis. This would allow abortion in the United States on a scale only seen in China, under its infamous one-child policy. Sex-selective abortion is so common in China that the country has an estimated 33 million "missing" girls. It's unthinkable what a bill like this would do to our great nation if signed into law.

That's fucking -doomed- in the Senate and just -horrid- for optics. Just... Jesus fucking Christ. This is the -last- thing they should try right after the abortion ban in Texas. It's the only thing they have to run on, and this will just nuke it from orbit.

Holy shit. I really want to believe that they had to whip them hard to get everyone in line, but part of me wonders with what carrot. This things beyond poison pill. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised to see backlash bills in the opposite direction copying Texas in a few more states now, just because of this.

Are we getting a gubbmint shutdown?
Probably not, the holdout is over the Dems being forced to pass the debt ceiling raise through reconciliation when such a move would prevent them then passing the budget through the mechanism (as IIRC it would count as the last time they can use reconciliation this legislative session).

Pelosi and Schumer are mostly flailing around hoping that they can pin any shutdown on the Republicans. That will fail though given who controls Congress, so we can expect to see some backtracking over it later this week.

this is very wrong and people should pay more attention to electoral politics in OR and WA

literally everyone in both states is massively unhappy about one party rule and the GOP or a wellfunded third party could be picking off seats by the simple and obvious method of running nonwhite locals

the fact that they don't do this and instead run wellfinanced RINO loser white boomer and older gen X candidates is one of the biggest pieces of evidence imo that the GOP wants to lose
They need to find a nonwhite willing to embrace and work with the GOP first lol.

The few nonwhites up there in Oregon and Washington are nutjobs. Unlike California, where there are a lot of nonwhites that could embrace the GOP.

Those two states are filled with faggots as leaders to begin with and always want to outwoke whatever the retards in Sacramento come up with.

Plus that something that recall in California showed, we got democrats willing to declare non whites as honorary whites at this point. Plus they get seen as race traitors and will lose a lot of community bonds and links if they try to help the GOP.
