Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

When I was younger, the RINOs were much better at keeping their mask on in front of their constituents, yet nowadays they can't even up their charade for more than a few months. What gives?
The constituents beliefs changed and the RINOs suck ass at reading the room. The Republican voters went from saying they wanted a small government, less government spending, and defending Freedom™ along with other bullshit, to going along with what Trump promoted which is promoting the idea the government should be like a business serving its clients.

Dumb fucks like Noem still think they sound appealing to voters by saying the government should stay out of businesses' lives, meanwhile the voters call it out as her not giving a shit about serving them.

At this point, Manchin and Sinema are de facto Republicans. Manchin because he's angling for the governorship, Sinema because the AZ Republican party -owns- her now. Arizona is one of the few states that has a method of a recall election for its federal level senators, the news out of Maricopa and the general ill will means Sinema would lose -hard-. She has likely been made very aware of this, and very aware that unless she does what the AZ Republican party wants, she gets to lose her seat.

No fuss, no media circus, no fight. Sinema keeps her job, AZ gets a very 'Republican' senator. I admire the ruthlessness of it.
Re:
48-50, meaning two dems refused. Hello Manchin.
One of the No's was actually Schumer. He voted No so he could reintroduce the bill later I believe.

Gov. Newsom signs bill making universal vote-by-mail permanent in California

"Well, it is finally official: Election Fraud is legal in the State of California!"

Who knew after 4 years of Trump, we got liberals going full retard.

It's kind of sad that practically every major city is deep blue shithole with no hope of getting better, yet everyone still thinks the Republicans are the problem. Chicago hasn't had a Republican mayor in NINETY years.

It doesn't help that the entire Democratic strategy seems to be (1) undocumented immigrants have more rights than Americans [remember when San Diego last year opened their in-person schooling to ONLY non-Americans?] or that (2) we'll give JUST enough money to the poor to keep them "not homeless" and then run on every election that the scary Republicans will take away their welfare checks. It's sad being a black man and listening to every Democrat basically say "any policy that doesn't assume black people are poor, helpless, lazy, or stupid is RACIST!" You can't expect black people to be able to go to the Registrar and get free IDs! You can't expect black people to be able to actually read the instructions on their mail-in ballots! You can't expect black people to actually succeed in a meritocracy!

I mean, THIS is Philadelphia. And this is not an aberration; EVERY major city looks like this now. And somehow Democrats are always talking about "well we just need to give poor people more money [so they'll keep voting for us]".

I live in Portland. This looks WORSE than Portland. WTF.

I am legitimately shocked. That's... stupid of him. Makes sense why Sinema voted for it then, knew it would fail so the AZ Republicans won't stake her for it.

If you talk to Dems/the left about problems in their cities and states run by Democrats, they will just tell you it's because the Democrats in office aren't left enough. Everything would totally be solved with even more taxing and spending.

Simple pimple, easy peasy!

What a dick munching thing to say, even for a senile old sniffer.
Mark what I'm about to post as MOTI but it is shit like this that has caused my compassion in humanity to drop significantly in the last two years. The Silent Generation and boomers still hold most of the power while the demographics proceeding them look to either fall under collaborators or pawns. These geriatric groups have amassed wealth and power for themselves, families, and donors while fucking over the middle and low-income class. They would gladly destroy the livelihoods of small-business owner while making big speeches about taxing the rich. While they make a big deal about how many lives will be saved through "vaccines" and "booster shots," they will never held accountable for the lives lost by their decisions. Also they've made it so their friends in Big Pharma are free of any liability.

The biggest reason this shit happens is because of how the worst of the left handles problem solving. This is less an issue with rank-and-file Dems, but it's a fucking huge problem with the progressives and establishment types (two parts of the Cabal, as @Gehenna calls them).

They come up with a solution, then work backwards to force that solution, even if the solution is wrong or fundamentally flawed on a basic level. They will not listen to alternatives, even if those are better, will not meaningfully negotiate, will not heed warnings, and if (more often, when) the solution fails, they will refuse to back off on it. They will then pass "band-aid" policies to prevent the original failure from becoming more of a failure, despite the fact that the original failure is still present. In this way, the problem metastasizes. It doesn't end until someone has the sense to pull the plug on the failed policy in the first place.

You haven't been paying attention then. Jackyboy Thompson was literally backed by the fucking Democrats, most notably Hillary Clinton and Joe Lieberman. It's a major reason fucking no one who remembers the shit they did will back them.
I thought Thompson was a fundamentalist. It wouldn't make sense for Hillary to fund him.

I've seen in my lifetime when alternatives are presented, they are usually called "racist" because of course the Dems know more about how to heal racism. Then when the solution obviously fails the way conservatives said it would, Democrats scream that there were "unforeseen circumstances" and usually double down because their solution obviously would have worked if people were less racist.

I covered this before too, the Twin Follies as I call them. 1: They tunnel vision onto a given solution, in direct proportion to the degree of damage, and lose track of all other possibilities. 2: All issues with their given solution that are not immediate are to be considered 'later'. They aren't viewed as flaws, but rather issues that will occur and can be handled 'later'.

We are seeing it right now with climate change. The progressives have no interest in incremental changes because "you care more about the economy than the planet!" So they just demand that the best way to save the planet is for everybody to give up their cars! All zero-emission cars within 10-15 years. How the fuck poor people are going to afford these cars? Doesn't matter; DON'T YOU CARE ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT!!!

As someone else pointed out, California is already undergoing a giant electricity crisis because of stupidity, and now they want everyone to have electric cars by 2035. Then they'll be completely shocked when the obvious happens.
