Chris's Jesus delusion can be explained psychoanalytically, using a conflict/defense model.
There are four sources which create psychological conflict: from instinctual impulses (the id), from moral prohibitions/ideals (the super-ego), from adverse real-world situations (reality perception, which is based in the ego) and from the desire to not lose/damage relationships with loved ones (object relations).
Defence mechanisms are used to resolve conflict and maintain psychological homeostasis in the process. There are four kinds that correspond to levels of personality organisation: mature, neurotic, borderline and psychotic. The borderline defences can be sub-divided into action, major and minor image distorting and disavowal defences, whereas the neurotic defences can be sub-divided into obsessional and classically neurotic defences (the former are based on partial repression and the latter are based on total repression).
Chris, due to having a narcissistic personality structure, has a core fantasy/need to feel unique and special, powerful and important. This is his instinctual impulse.
However, reality bears down heavily on this. Not only has he once again had to contend with having the same rules applied to him as everyone else, but the prison and courts are far from ideal institutions to seek special status in.
To defend against this, he uses a psychotic defense called distortion, which overlays a structured delusion on top of the external world to cut off awareness of his restrictive situation. Being Jesus Christ is the best choice of distortion for this, because Jesus is INFINITELY special, important, unique and powerful. Also note that this mechanism is actually nothing new and has been in place for years - his distortion previously revolved around being a CPU Goddess and the Dimensional Merge and before that, the Mayor of CWCville communicating with Sonichu like an imaginary friend and being able to curse people. It seems like the more hopeless and frustrating life became for him, the more grandiose and extreme his distortion became.

Chris has spent 39 years without being able to integrate into society, with or without prison he is a lost cause, at least in prison he would have a bed and a place to stay, because as soon as he gets out the only thing waiting for him is the homeless saga

and all because the dumbass will fail to learn how the commissary works. If some bigger tougher inmate sends him some as a "gift" he'll take it and run thinking its no different than enablers/weens sent him things like that switch. Catch is when someone gives you commissary in prison you either turn it down and send it back or promise to pay it back with interest. That means earning your own from a work detail or some form of payment...and failing that its bend over and prepare for bubba's meat hammer bitch.
well maybe but i mean like freddy kruger stuff, touched then killed the kids stuff, or killed your own mother. Seriously idk why but matricide is often considered one of the worst things you can be in prison for....dk about fucking her though.

Someone wrote a book comparing Chris and Warhol or some shit. That is how Chris got on the Warhol kick. As for the claim that he is God made flesh, the literal Christ, it's actually not surprising at all. Chris has always believed he has a special place within Christianity. This is evidenced by his apparent belief that he can receive prophecies from God, his belief that his birthday should be a holiday, etc. Something that always struck me as odd about the Christian Love Day video and followup mailbag discussion(s) is that Chris seems to hint at having a reason beyond the basic "fun holiday to celebrate straight true honest love blah blah." He may not have believed at that time that he was literally the second coming of Jesus, but I think it's entirely possible (even probable) that he believed himself to be a divine being of sorts.
EDIT: I mean, fuck--you can pick pretty much any issue of Sonichu and see hints of this in Chris's portrayal of himself in the comic. Like when he gets pulled into the time vortex or whatever and basically becomes an omniscient deity who watches over the Sonichus.

This is the problem with accepting his troonery at face value: he's too autistic to understand social roles and doesn't know what it means to be a woman, he just mimics whatever person he interacts with. Classic Chris was a cheap imitation of Bob (he even ripped off MrC's license "joke"). Then the lumberjack gets cuts down so Chris apes Barb's personality and becomes a psychotic woman.
Now Chris is surrounded by men 24/7 so he's a man again. What other personality traits he'll copy from unrepentant sex criminals remains to be seen, but the righteous indignation is surely there.

Chris will most likely be sent to a low or minimum security prison. Instead of being in a cell with Jim the Nazi who killed 12 men he will be put in a cell with Bob the white collar criminal. Everyone thinks prison is like the movies where rape and being shanked is part of daily life. Most prisoners don't want to add more time to there sentence so they will almost be forced to leave him alone. Most likely he will be in protective custody or thrown in with a bunch of other crazy inmates. Prison is not like the movies I'm sorry to tell you in fact in America prisons are private business and don't want violence especially with a high profile case. That could effect stock prices or get the local government on there asses. Most likely Chris won't get hurt and even if he does he will get thrown into PC

yeah but still that commissary is genuinely like that, they take it very seriously and you damn well better be willing to pay up one way or another, its the inside equivalent o loan sharking, so much that there's been talk of discontinuing or replacing it with a system other inmates can't exploit others over.
but i do see what you mean i know it's optimistic but I'm still on the fence about what they'll do to chris when it comes to finally sentencing him. I'm sure heilburg is gonna try an whittle the charges down to high level misdemeanors citing chris NEEDS the tugboat to survive on the outside and he's too inept and dumb to reapply for it as a felon, not to mention he was SUPPOSED to only get it after working for a set number of years and he's only worked at most six months at a Wendy's in his life.
