Box dye is fuckin harsh rubbish and you really should only get your hair dyed at a salon. They are NOT the same experience…box dye is a one-size-hopefully-fits-most product that’s way harsher on the hair. Manufacturers make it to the strongest bleach/dye combo they can so that it will have an effect on whatever shade of hair you are. It’s like if a restaurant salted every goddamn dish within an inch of its life, so that sodium whales like Chantal and other salt fiends can taste it. Meanwhile the rest of the patronage gags on it because it’s too much.
A proper salon will examine your shade and hair quality and then tailor their approach with a custom mix, to minimize damage.
But this porkfat-sweating buffalo can’t squeeze into a stylist’s chair anyway, so…
And yeah, you shouldn’t wash your hair right before a dye job, it strips the hair of natural oils which protect the follicles from chemical damage. But that only means you skip maybe ONE day of washing beforehand and you make damn sure you have NO products in it. Chantal’s hair is greased up by at least a week and loaded with those idiot fibres and likely hairspray. Those things get in the way of the dye trying to do its job. Same reason they tell you not to wear creams or heavy body sprays and perfumes when you get a spray-on tan…they’re chemicals at their core and they interact with the chemical dyes of the tan.
After dumping bottle dye on her hair like a mong, she then brushes her still-wet hair like all women learned NOT to do back in their teens. Hair is weaker when it is wet and breaks and shreds with wet-brushing. Fat hog can’t even invest her precious nashie money in a gentle detangling comb that would run her a fiver at most.
She also sleeps on it wet, curls and straightens JUST-DYED HAIR (which is at its most fragile and shouldn't be touched with heat for at least a few days), lets it accumulate grease and oils for weeks…and she wonders why her hair is getting worse.
She couldn’t fuckin treat her hair any more badly if she stuck her head in a stump grinder.
