If you may permit me to don my autism hat for a little bit, I’ll provide a brief timeline of events. So Coco proves there’s a potential english-speaking audience for Hololive, there are tons of clippers providing EN translations, domo sends his infamous and now-deleted “No wife, only friend!” red superchat. There’s a small growing indie Vtuber scene, of which our own Yuni Luna was a part of before joining Phase Connect. Hololive Myth is announced. People are wondering if they’re going to be cringe or, kind of unlikely, good.

Myth is good. They are very good. Gura hits 1 million subs in a month good. Naturally, this sort of sub growth and twitter engagement draws in a crowd of bootleg imitation Vtubers, including but not limited to Artemis, Bao, Kamiko Kana formerly of Tsunderia, and so on. Let’s call this collective of people group 1.

You then have regular streamers announcing Vtuber avatars to cash in on the latest trend, the ones I know of being Lilypichu, Pokimane, and Scarra. I’m unaware of any other (relatively) high-profile streamers that attempted this transition. Group 2.

Then you have the normal-ass Youtube content creators. The clippers, the weeb-adjacent channels. The hero heis, the gigguks, the otakmoris. The Hololive Sings. People who make videos and profit off of Vtubers through making content about or mentioning Vtubers. Group 3.

Sydsnap/Hime Hajime is a Group 3/2 hybrid that makes the barest of attempts to be a Group 1. She is an ironic weeb that’s doing the whole “streamer” thing as an afterthought. In the past month she has done 5 hours of streams; for reference, Fauna has surgery or something, and she’ll likely surpass that output in a single week.

The above rambling incoherent mess is all to say that Hime Hajime is the textbook example of a grifter.




On a far more pleasant note, Kronii’s pretty good. Though I gotta say I’m not a fan of 2 of them pulling guerrillas for their first public karaokes..

since I never played BOTW, I don't know if that's zelda too based on the topography (if it is that concept art could cause some butt clenching) and if the zelda map isn't that populated either (picture only has terrain and foliage, no mobs or anything else, like a game in production). it also doesn't look like something you'd use as a background for 3d shenaningans based on terrain features, so if it's not zelda that leaves plenty of room for some rrats like cover making a hololive genshin clone (yeah right)

Hololive fighting game would be really fucking good. Most of the characters have enough "lore" that someone could come up with a few good set of moves and specials.

A Hololive Visual Novel would be great, honestly. Not quite a "dating sim" (although elements of such can be featured, depending of the girl).

I can see a game where you build a party (Korone, Miko, Luna, Marine, for example) and go fight some cartoony "demon king" or whatever, and depending on the party's make up, the story can go off the rails accordingly.
