I was saying in chat before when that was ongoing, but this is basically corn joke v2. Nick has done things that piss Ralph off, but that he knows he can't be angry at. This was the same with me. Nick having me on his show, for instance, is probably something that makes him super angry but that he can't lash out about because it makes him look like a girl. Then comes something he can justify better to his audience (corn joke, mocking him shitting himself) and he goes all out over it.

I also think that Ralph just can't handle being a joke to people. Nick saying he wouldn't let May babysit his kids is offensive, but it's May. Nick laughing at him is something he can't let slide. Me laughing at him saying he's smart blows a fuse in his brain. He can't handle being laughed at. Probably childhood trauma.

Actually, something just occurred to me...we're focusing on the "I won't talk about your case without your permission" part, but the important part is above it, where he says he's considering Ralph his client.

Nick is saying that likely so that the communications are privileged, and attempts to subpoena Nick for evidence in Ralph's case would be met with an attorney client privilege defense even if Nick isn't representing Ralph in the revenge porn case specifically.

That is for Ralph's safety.

Ralph appears to have just willingly released these communications which, if my hazy memory recalls, might allow relevant adversarial parties to Ralph pierce that privilege on communications between Ralph and Nick far more easily since the communications between Nick and Ralph were willingly and very publicly divulged by Ralph.

If that ends up being an issue this could be a truly amazing own goal.
