US Joe Biden News Megathread - The Other Biden Derangement Syndrome Thread (with a side order of Fauci Derangement Syndrome)

Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Something I kinda want to talk about since it'll be relevant to the Biden admin's policies in Asia is the current inter-party LDP election happening in Japan. For context, Japan is a free democracy with plenty of opposition parties, but it is a de-facto one party state whose politics are securely controlled by the Liberal Democratic Party. These people make the American Cabal's factionalism and shadow warring look like fucking nothing.

As of this post being typed results for the first vote are coming in. First vote is important, because it's very likely nobody will get a 50% majority and win. Following this vote there will be a quick runoff vote, where Japan's House of Representatives votes for one of the two highest leading candidates. It only takes an hour from start of voting to all the votes being counted, for reference.

There are four candidates being voted on right now. From left to right:
Taro Kono (Orange), Fumio Kishida (Red), Sanae Takaichi (Blue), and Seiko Noda (Green).

Kono is the current favorite to win the title of LDP's candidate for Prime Minister (which will make him the Prime Minister, essentially). He's a few percentage points of winning right now, however. Kishida and Takaichi's supporters however have agreed to combine their votes to oppose Kono, and as for Noda... Noda voters are irrelevant.

As a basic tl;dr, all three (see: "Noda voters are irrelevant.") of these candidates are experienced Japanese politicians with no health issues and only limited controversies. Kono and Kishida are typical conservatives but Takaichi is a nationalist, who among other things insists on praying at Yasukuni (a Shinto shrine that reveres Japanese war criminals as spirits, or kami). This makes the Chinese very upset and she says she'll continue to pray there even if she becomes Premier. I'll edit this post in a bit to add their policy positions but this election moves fast, unlike the American one, so I'll put this out to get some eyes on it. As for why no thread, it's too late for one methinks.
HEY THERE MISTER SHINTOIST, MERRY FUCKING ELECTION. I HOPE YOU WIN AND DRINK EGGNOG AND PRAY TO JESUS YOU INFIDELIC, PAGAN SCUM.

Unfortunately, Chapman already did so. Apparently the sleuths at 4chan pegged him as one of the dudes at Waco posing heroically on the ashes of little kids after they burnt the place down. The dude was as toxic as arsenic after that dropped, even if nobody wanted to publicly admit it.
According to the article and another article I found, that apparently wasn't him. He supposedly had an alibi being in an ATF facility or something at the time the picture was taken. Now I won't rule out the idea that it's media running interference to get their boy in as head of the ATF, but what proof did 4chan provide other than the pic? Just don't want to be spreading misinformation is all, but I really wouldn't be surprised if that was him.

None AFAIK, and while I won't rule out 4chan being wrong myself... the man was absolute cancer as even without that he openly boasted of wanting to go after legit gun owners and start making shit illegal via fiat. Fuck him, and the horse he rode in on.

The Republican party has a lot of experience eating shit with a grin.
Democrats, however, were at the point where they could hardly comprehend a reality where wins aren't handed to them on a silver platter and nearly all those who pretended to want to fight back just rolled over at the utterance of a few mean names.

The whole Obama is the new Jesus campaing really fucked them up huh?

They really thought they were going to be eternal philosopher kings, they bought their own bullshit, amazing.

No wonder the Hillary meltdown is STILL going in a way.

While I don't think Trump will be able to come back, shit, I want to see it again just for the shits and giggles.
Eh. Democrats and liberals have been that way since Bush. A friend of mine pretty much screamed at me that "Republicans can only get the presidency by cheating. The Supreme Court cheated for Bush, Russians cheated for Trump." And I spent a weekend with liberal friends who couldn't fathom that people might have legitimate issues with Democrats.

That is why Biden is such a nightmare for liberals. Especially Afghanistan. Biden has that D next to his name so he can't fuck up the way he has. It is impossible. Republicans are supposed to be the incompetent ones. And liberals are losing their shit over it.

"What concerned me is there was no one in government that I knew of who was willing to take responsibility for my own safety or my wife's safety," he said. "I talked to the FBI. They were like: 'Well, has anyone done anything? We investigate crimes.' I said: 'Well, that's not what I'm looking for. Who owns my security?'"
Federal agent for 25 years, wants to head up a law enforcement agency, and he can't even organize his own security. Though threats of this nature do sound like a Federal crime that the FBI could have investigated. I wonder why they didn't at least
Chipman said he took particular note of one threatening letter postmarked Grand Rapids, Michigan, given last year's plot against Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
Oh. They were the ones sending him the threats. Makes sense now.

Between the uptick in news articles talking about inflation(or stagflation as some have taken to calling it), the government trying to tax every little transaction, and trying to pass increasingly authoritarian legislation its now obvious that the U.S. dollar is about to collapse. Faith in government is at an all time low, foreign faith in our government is dismal, and our entire monetary system is backed by sole faith in the U.S. government™. It doesn't matter if the debt ceiling is raised, it doesn't matter if they pass this 3.5 trillion dollar infrastructure bill, its already in motion, nothing is stopping it at this point.

Hearing people bitch about the government spending more money while also simultaneously spouting meme's like "money printer go BRRRRRRRRRR" is maddening. People really can't put two and two together, it doesn't fucking matter if they print $5 or $5,000,000,000,000 its all fucked. Every fiat system is doomed to fail, and we're entering the death spiral in our own system. "oh no they're further debasing our worthless paper" if you haven't started taking proper steps to secure your wealth outside of this debt addicted system after the last 2 years of madness then you were never going to in the first place, more time would've done you no good.

Opinion: Eugene Robinson: Biden has done big things

WASHINGTON — No matter what happens in Congress over the next few days, the one thing even President Joe Biden’s harshest critics cannot say is that his administration’s accomplishments are inconsequential. This is a White House that does big things at home and abroad.

It is possible, but unlikely, that the week could end with the Democratic Party doing its best impersonation of a smoking ruin. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., might fail to craft a version of Biden’s $3.5 trillion “human infrastructure” package that moderate Democrats will vote for. And progressive House Democrats, in response, might torpedo the $1 trillion “hard infrastructure” bill that the Senate has already approved.

I doubt this Armageddon scenario will occur, since the argument is less about substance than about arithmetic – congressional arithmetic at that, which is much more flexible than the addition and subtraction we learned in school. The numbers involved are so humongous that Pelosi and Schumer ought to be able to find some sweet spot that lets both moderates and progressives claim victory. No Democrat should see failure as an option.

But the fact that we’re talking about trillions of dollars instead of mere billions gives an idea of how ambitious the Biden-Harris administration is. Anyone who might have imagined that our oldest president would mostly be a soothing corrective after the insanity of the Donald Trump years was dead wrong.

Look at what Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have done to reshape U.S. foreign policy – an area in which presidents largely have free rein. Previous administrations talked the talk. Biden is walking the walk in ways that have both our allies and our adversaries struggling to keep up.

The Obama administration talked for years about ending the war in Afghanistan and withdrawing American forces, but ended up agreeing to a troop surge instead. The Trump administration signed a bad deal, incompetently negotiated, to bring U.S. troops home but got booted out of office before being able to follow through. Biden could have tried to get out of the bargain. Instead, he went ahead and fulfilled it.

No, the withdrawal wasn’t pretty. But it happened. This nation’s longest war is over – any way you look at it, that’s a historic milestone, and one Biden has used to reshape U.S. goals abroad.

Biden and Harris are pulling off a shift in our foreign policy orientation that has been talked about for more than a decade – a “pivot” or “tilt” away from our traditional focus on Europe and the Middle East toward the region now called the Indo-Pacific, with an eye toward the rise of China as a competing superpower.

Biden secretly negotiated a new defense pact with Australia and Britain that will give the Australians nuclear-powered submarine technology as a check on China’s growing naval power. He hosted the first in-person summit of the Quad strategic alliance – the United States, Japan, Australia and India – in another initiative aimed at containing China’s regional ambitions. He sent Harris to Southeast Asia to shore up U.S. ties with Singapore and Vietnam.

China’s leaders hate all of these moves, which they see as hostile. It is unclear whether Biden’s shift in focus makes a potential confrontation over the fate of Taiwan more or less likely. Even if it doesn’t come to that, this reorientation matters, and it matters a lot.

Still, it is true that Biden’s political standing and the Democrats’ electoral prospects will probably turn on the success or failure of his domestic agenda. You can love that vision or hate it, but the one thing it can’t be called is modest.

The passage of the Affordable Care Act under President Barack Obama was the most significant shift in the role of government in this country since the Reagan administration. Now, however, Biden is seeking a much more dramatic sea change.

He wants to help Americans buy electric cars and build charging stations to make them practical as a way of fighting climate change. He wants high-speed trains on some heavily traveled routes. He wants everyone to have broadband Internet access. He wants to provide free or subsidized child care and 12 weeks of guaranteed paid family leave. He wants to offer free preschool for all 3- and 4-year-olds and two free years of community college. He wants to expand Medicare benefits and reduce prescription drug costs.

Okay, he wants everything including the kitchen sink. And that’s what the nation needs after four decades of trickle-down economics that created massive inequality and allowed the nation’s physical infrastructure and human infrastructure to fall behind.

Biden and Harris have been in office for just eight months. Deduct style points from their score if you like. Acknowledge the failures on issues such as immigration. But they swing for the fences. And they get things done.
Just you wait, Trumptards! The Bidenbros are rising by the day. /sneed

Necromancy is a hell of a thing.

The whole Obama is the new Jesus campaing really fucked them up huh?
It goes back further than Obama:
G. H. W. Bush succeeded Reagan and the country looked like this:
1920px-ElectoralCollege1988.png

After serving one term, the country looked like this:
1920px-ElectoralCollege1992.png

This was succeeded, of course, by the Clinton years: Those were the parts of the 90's everyone seems to remember so fondly, until 2000 where the notorious G.W.B. came into power. Not much more needs to be said there.

After his two terms is when we got the almighty King Nigger.

Betting against the big banks, who have liquidated a lot of bonds and shored up an additional few billion in cash in 2021, is absolutely retarded. The delta of inflation is likely to decrease based on fed policy because inflation is no longer beneficial now that we need people to fill in McWagie jobs. You shouldn't hold a lot of usd analogues anyways, but the worst of CPI changes has already happened. Energy has gone up almost 50 percent since covid.

Ah yes, the "Tapering" that the fed mentions every other day now when they need the stock market to bounce after another 2% sell off. Not like it means prices will be coming down, they're simply going to halt asset purchases, not draw down their balance sheet and maybe soak up a little bit of that ocean of cash they've drowned the markets in. It's absolutely ridiculous how Bush senior went from a 91% approval rating in the Fall of 1991 to losing the election the next year.

I wasn't alive back then so someone else might be more enlightening on the subject. But the popular "lore" I get on occasion was him going from "read my lips; no new taxes" to raising taxes completely de-legitimized him to his base. Nobody likes a hypocrite.

I switched to bottled in bond (100+ proof, 4+ years old, single distiller, single growing season)whiskeys and haven’t looked back. Evan Williams white label and Rittenhouse are unbelievable values if you’re a cocktail snob who needs good general quality and broad strokes in base spirits.

And cognac is absolutely a brandy. It’s a regional appelation the way bourbon or scotch is.
Tried Rittenhouse because a YouTuber tried it cause of the name and actually liked it... It's the best cheap whiskey I've ever had. Hands down.

Double-posting? In my Joe Biden Megathread?
It's more likely than you think.

Pardon if this comes off a bit assholish, but do these things need a community of rehabilitation specialists? They aren't exactly endangered, are they? From what I've seen, they breed and thrive like the rodents they are.

It's usually only babies that get rehabbed. Sometimes the mother gets killed by a predator or gets hit by a car and someone finds the babies when they hear them crying. A lot of times it's just people doing stupid shit. Plenty of people decide to cut down trees on their property without ever checking to see if animals have made a home in the tree first. A lot of times the mothers are crushed to death when the tree falls (and some of the babies as well). Also people have a nasty habit of trying to prune their own trees with chainsaws without ever checking for nests first and more often than not people usually saw through squirrel nests, killing the mother and often mutilating the babies. I've seen babies come in with missing limbs and bloodied faces more than I want to remember.

Those that can be saved get rehabbed. If all goes well, when they get to adulthood (about 12 weeks which is when they'd leave the nest), they get put in release cages and gently reintroduced to nature where eventually they leave on their own and make their own nests and continue on the path they were originally on before some moron with a chainsaw fucked it up.

So the truth? Do Squirrels need a community of rehabilitation specialists? Probably not but when a 4 week old baby with its eyes still closed comes in to the wildlife center, and it's injured and in pain, and hungry and crying for its mother (they make a specific high pitched whine when they're calling for mom), and they're terrified because they can't understand why their whole world has been turned upside down, it takes a much harder man than I am to say, "Fuck it, toss it outside and let it starve to death". And thus rehabbers came to be.

Here's a fun fact: At least in New York state it is illegal for wildlife rehabbers to accept money or get paid for saving wildlife. All expenses come out of our pockets. Most nature centers and wildlife centers only survive through donations. I'm just grateful that I was successful enough in my real career that I can afford to do this. At the very least I feel like I'm giving back to the planet in some small way.

Another fun fact! Squirrels are the reason for most of the trees around us and in forests. Each year Squirrels forget about roughly 50% of the nuts and pine cones they bury, many of which will eventually germinate and grow into trees.

Anyway, sorry for the thread derailment. Now back to your regularly scheduled Pedo Joe programming...

Excuse me, just sending some money to some rehabbers...

What the fuck? Why? Was the state legislature really bored that day or something? Christ, governments were a mistake.

Anyway, thanks for sharing. You put it in perspective. I guess if I encountered a baby squirrel in person I'd have a hard time abandoning it too, even though I'm not too bothered about the idea of squirrels dying in general. I think some commie once coined a famous phrase about that sort of thing.
