That "City of Stars" rendition was the clear stand-out from her set. She should take a page out of Gura's playbook and do some slow jazz-themed set lists as her voice is a great match for them. On the other hand, I can't help but see echoes of Ame being channeled when she's brute-forcing her way on some of the very genki, higher register songs.

I do agree that even just a handful of lessons would help her improve a lot.

I was partial to her rendition of Young and Beautiful I thought her genuine nervousness really ended up elevating the performance of a song about the fear of rejection

The problem with Pippa playing boomer shooters is that they require concentration, so I doubt we'd get her usual stream of consciousness insanity if she were trying to avoid getting killed by the 50 enemies on screen. She'd probably do best with horror games or other types that have exploration and otherwise quiet segments.

Regardless, I definitely agree with her about Minecraft. At this point, so long as you don't care about the language or the company, you could probably find a VTuber playing Minecraft every hour of the day, which isn't even getting into the 100s of hours of VODs.

I don't remember this site having that much of an meltdown over it compared to /vt/. It has never been about e-celebs in general but which ones and anitubers here and on /vt/ are very much hated.
Also that collab came out after the infamous Gura collab and painted Mori not giving a shit about her genmates/other holomembers while preparing for an e-celeb collab. Of course this was just bad timing and the next hololive collab and the other collabs afterwards proved that.

Several pages pertaining to that is bad enough, especially when you have people giving in to the lunacy of "Calli is never enthusiastic/sociable in genmate collabs" despite...the majority of her genmate collabs showing otherwise. It's wild that two more collabs were needed to prove that wrong.

Hell, I remember a while back I asked here if people believing that had even watched most of Calli's collabs, and I got blasted for it, lmao

I really like her Demon Dice stuff so im really glad she went that way.

Well I'm excited to hear this now, since I actually prefer her old sound.

It takes a very special breed of Pipkin, but Pippa might like Lobotomy Corporation if she's willing to accept trial and error gameplay being so integral to the game that it's literally the plot and that she can gain better and faster by resetting to day 1 sometimes.

If she can can come to terms with some of the most frustrating shit, Lob Corp is not only good stream content, but has chat integration and a pause button. Along with with Korean SCP that isn't autistic and bad.

My thoughts. I hadn't listened to the song when it was posted because I wanted to experience it in the way it was intended. If you did listen to it the video still offers you something, that being beautiful art and the lyrics to the song. The singing was gorgeous and the lyrics were wonderful; favorited as always with Calli. I'll have to watch again and think about it more to really absorb the lyrics and meaning, my first impression was it being about DemonDice and her missing it but being grateful what she has now. Maybe that's off base, maybe it isn't, hell there might be multiple intentions.

Of course I do understand your interpretation of the song but it to me it comes off potentially like melodrama, I do really like the song a lot regardless, if this means she's going to focus more on music as a part of Hololive I wouldn't blame her and I think that's just as good as if she continues as demon dice also.
