It's mostly true but there are definitely some exceptions where even if you disregard the outliers the fanbase is still insufferable, like furries

yeah she's really suffering from that hard character setting, and by suffering I mean she's the biggest breakout of her gen.

And now Amelia is known for being one of the most consistently hard working and inventive characters in Hololive, and maybe sometimes she might reference her character lore, but more often than not she doesn't. Hell, she spontaneously crammed the whole time travel thing in herself. It ain't the name, it's the guts and willingness to succeed behind it that matters. Her creativity has overcome all her limits, if she even has any (other than maybe singing, and she's working on that too. Though she'll never have patience, or be low sodium...).
