Season 6 (2011; published on YouTube in 2012) was the last season that had its episodes posted on GameTrailers before YouTube. James would step back from reguarly producing new AVGN episodes, largely due to burnout and the impending production of the AVGN movie. The quality of the season overall was fairly mediocre compared to past AVGN seasons, but it did see the release of a behind-the-scenes video that detailed how episodes were made at the time, which doesn't seem like a bad thing. The best episode was Dark Castle (a decent Halloween episode, not the best, but also the last episode where James's "anger" torwards a game didn't seem overdramatic), the worst episode was Nintendo World Championships (an early contender for the worst AVGN episode, and it sort of foreshadowed the content of AVGN episodes now, with the "review" being more skits and any actual reviewing)
Season 7 (2012-2013) was the first season of AVGN since Season 1 to have its episodes posted on YouTube instead of GameTrailers. Speaking of which, it was also the last season to have its episodes posted on GameTrailers (the last episode in particular being Atari Sports for what I know), as well as the last season where the show was affiliated with GameTrailers and ScrewAttack (the last episode those two groups were credited in an AVGN episode was in the AVGN Games episode). The season was less mediocre than the last, but it marked a change of acting style James did as the Nerd (probably a result from his acting expierences in the movie, which had partially wrapped up production at that time). This wasn't a massive sore spot for the show, however, and for me, I ended up getting back to AVGN with this season, which I found to be good overall. The best episode was Tiger Electronic Games (the episode that helped me get back into AVGN, and a pretty decent analysis of Tiger's primitive games and their failed ventures into console gaming), the worst episode was Toxic Crusaders (for me at least, if I were a Troma fan, I'd likely enjoy it more, but for me, it kinda sucked)
Season 8 (2014) marked the show's 10th anniversary, and both the Desert Bus and ET Atari 2600 episodes would commerate that milestone. The season also had a bulk of episodes (5-16) released a part of a sort of miniseries for Christmas, most of above average quality at best. The AVGN Movie was also released around this season, and whether it was good depends on the viewer (of course, the ET Atari 2600 episode was basically a segment from that movie repackaged into a Nerd episode). Excluding the Christmas episodes, the best episode was Desert Bus (a neat way to celebrate the show's 10th anniversary, and a good way to see the Nerd truly suffer after such a long time playing terrible games), the worst episode was ET Atari 2600 (again, it was a segment of the AVGN Movie, which is a film you have to like to enjoy the review, so basically its not a good episode)
Season 9 (2015) marked the return to Season 6-esque averageness in terms of quality, since much of the celebrations of the show's 10th anniversary had wrapped up by this point. As a side note, this season marked the start of Screenwave's involvement with AVGN (though their involvement really goes back to around the AVGN Movie, if not its early stages of production, as they were the movie's distributor and one of its leading men is a friend of James), although their cancer wouldn't be apparent for a few more years. The best episode was Seaman (a nice dedication of Leonard Nimoy, and a very comfy episode overall), the worst episode was Hong Kong 97 (not a episode I hate, but given that he's reviewing a meme game, its understandable as to why many people would have problems with the episode)
Season 10 (2016) marked the show's 10th year on YouTube, and both the Mega Man Games and Berenstain Bears episodes would commerate that milestone. Also marking the occasion was the Nerd Room's change in setup (after years of mild changes to the room between Season 3 and 9), which first appeared in Season 9's Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero episode, but didn't fully debut until the Mega Man Games episode (which began theories that the show was being filmed on an actual set instead of a basement, given how the setup made the room look smaller without the iconic classic setup). On the whole, Season 10 was a very good season without one single dark spot... well, except for that one. The best episodes I'd give to the twofer of Mega Man Games and Berenstain Bears (both very good ways to celebrate AVGN's 10th year on YouTube; the former an amazing time travel episode, and the latter a neat Halloween episode, as it was also the 10th year since Halloween episodes became a staple of AVGN), the worst episode... Sega Activator and Aura Interactor... (easily the first episode everyone agreed sucked, repeating Nintendo World Championship's problem with being more skits than reviewing)
