A lot of people thought that all Venus had to do was escape Margo by any means necessary and she'd go on and live her life instead of spiraling out of control because she has no idea what living a stable life is like. She's a giant trainwreck and the years of carnage are all over the internet.

I feel bad for her, mostly because I know she's going to slam head first into a brick wall eventually and it won't be pretty, but I also feel like this entire descent into the current madness that is Venus was a possibility from the beginning.

I think most guys, but particularly a guy who initially was just a internet fan, is extremely ill equipped to deal with a psychological traumatized tragedy like Venus. If Venus is hellbent of self-destructing nobody can help her. Manaki seemed to have grown up in a nice, stable, loving home. He cannot even fathom why Venus needs chaos to feel normal.

It wasn’t just a possibility, but the most likely outcome. Escaping Margo was never going to undue the 18 year mindfuck that Margo subjected her to. It’s a miracle when kids that escape parents like Margo manage to succeed on any level really. BPD parents raise them to sabatoge themselves and mistrust their own thoughts.

People often forget that it isn't easy to escape a narc abusive parent and live life just fine. There's a lot of emotional baggage that only a therapist and healthy social connections can unpack. Most people thinking she would break free from Margo and live a normal life are thinking about this situation as if Venus had a normal upbringing. She didn't.

Margo fucked her up, yes, but the Internet (and going to Japan of all places) nailed the last nails on her coffin.

Do you guys thinkthat if manakin was like "do this chores. Because I want them done by the time I arrive at 5 pm alongside dinner" and making her do things by being ordered would help her? I mean it's what she has known her entire life. Being told what to do by others

I feel like she'd call him a mini-margo again and accuse him of being abusive.

Mana would have to pull an actual Margo and seize all of Venus's social media accounts to keep her from screaming abuse if he tried to implement some structure in her life. If he's still housing her, he's a saint. I think it's more to keep her from dying on the streets than about enabling her, and she's not about to contribute anything in return.

Venus at this point will burn every bridge she comes across. Children of narc and abusive households can go on to be functioning adults, but it really depends on the amount of CPTSD and the child's ability to process their experiences while learning to function in a world that makes no accommodation for them.
