This is one of the reasons why Oculus isn't the big name in PC VR anymore. Why connect software with outside servers? Really?
If you have any interest whatsoever in an Oculus Quest (1 only, 2 is permapozzed from launch) running in non-pozzed mode the window to get one is going to slam shut very soon. End of october (iirc) is when they're killing the Oculus authentication servers and transitioning fully over to FB account linking for basic auth/appstore access, and if you're logged in and authenticated on a Q1 you can run an app that forcibly removes everything Facebook related as well as all the telemetry at the cost of breaking the storefront.
This might seem like a dealbreaker but you can laglessly stream VR stuff from a gaming computer with this setup (even one below the minimal VR specs since the Quest is handling a ton of the CPU load for positioning/tracking) as well as sideload most android apps. Google Earth VR combined with an ambient rain app is a good time.
