Picture provided shows a grid or roughly 14x23 puzzles. That’s 322 pieces. Let’s be generous that it’s cropped and say that it’s a 500 piece puzzle. According to some puzzle websites it takes about 2 to 6 hours to finish a 500 piece set, that is in a relaxed mood over a period of about 3 evenings.

That gives us a *puzzling* conclusion about Wedge’s IQ. And no, self diagnosed disabilities aren’t a valid excuse.

Besides the show having gay characters, I can think of two other things that might be going on.
They like the bright colors and simple, repetitive themes of children's television since adulting is scary and brain like shiny thing.
Steven Universe has characters forming fusions with other characters (like in Dragonball Z), and they enjoy fantasizing about having close bonds with others like the charcters in the show. If you have no IRL relationship experience, and relationships exist for you on only the theoretical level rather than the practical level, the idea of merging with your bestie is appealing. I've heard several parents whose kids watch the show describe the idea of fusion as creepy. To an autogynephile with poor interpersonal boundaries the idea of merging with a person you like, "bEcOmiNg wHat we LoVe", is like catnip.

I ended up watching all of Steven Universe because I had friends into it.

It couldn't quite decide what fusions meant. There's one episode where the white nerdy lesbian alien Pearl wants to merge with the giant black lesbian alien Garnet (who's made of two, smaller lesbian aliens). They create a monster voiced by Nicki Minaj. White nerdy lesbian decides to trick black lesbian into merging with her, and this is then treated as a terrible thing to do and becomes a teachable moment about consent. White nerdy lesbian was also in love with Steven's dead mother, and would enjoy fusing with her and got jealous if Steven's mother tried to fuse with other people (like Steven's Dad).

So the implication there is it's sex, but then later on Steven ends up merging with his alien lesbian guardians and a human child called Connie (to make a non binary "Stevonnie" that's an adult and everyone finds hot). Rebecca Sugar used to draw kiddie porn of Ed, Edd n Eddy though so this shouldn't come as a surprise.

K-pop seems to fall into the same place as 80s hair metal. These are prettyboys who wear makeup and extravagant clothes, but it seems like this isn't seen as undermining their masculinity or even as gay, because Korea is still pretty homophobic (they sometimes fire people if they learn they're gay over there). They're basically all straight dudes. At least one K-pop band (I think BTS? Idk I don't follow it) has done drag on the basis of "look we're all dressed at women! Isn't that stupid! This is so funny that us men are wearing dresses and wigs".

They and the fandom also get defensive when Westerners make assumptions that these are all gay dudes, and that's why Wedge thinks the fandom is transphobic. But the secret reason it's disliked is because a bunch of straight guys who pass better than most AGPs are "presenting non binary" or "presenting femme" but saying "we're still straight men, and dressing how we do doesn't change anything". Which is actually progressive, but undermines the optics of contemporary Western gender politics.

Assuming this is black-and-white color blindness (rather than missing only one kind of color), I still think he could put the puzzle together. As there's enough variety and distinctness in the image where he could complete it without much difficulty. Though why is he getting upset at the manufacturer? And what does he expect them to do to address his colorblindness?

As for the K-Pop issue, it's very inconsequential. But I personally think his brother should get better taste in music. As K-Pop is sickeningly upbeat and positive, to the point of excess.

I find the colorblind claim somewhat believable for Wedge. Maybe that’s why his shitty art looks like vomit when colorized and why his grasp on color theory is no better than a toddler’s.

I'm confused about what exactly Wedge would like the puzzle makers to do about this. I imagine the assembly process went something like this:

1. Wedge, still seething after being denied a thread, gets himself a puzzle to assemble for Internet points.
2. It turns out puzzles are hard! Wedge tries and tries to fit the pieces together, but he just can't make it work.
3. Wedge's autism kicks in, and now he can't help but finish the puzzle, This is obviously the puzzle's fault, rather than being due to any deficiency of the assembler.
4. Wedge, now coping about his puzzle AND seething about being denied his own thread, cries as he painstakingly crawls his way through metaphorical barbed wire to finish his podcast themed consoomer puzzle, only taking 8 OnlyFans breaks along the way.
5. With all 300-500 pieces assembled, Wedge is cast free from the spell his autism has woven over him. He had a bad time, and everybody must know about it. Creating puzzles for people over the age of 12 is DISCRIMINATING AGAINST THE AUTISTIC, AND THERE'S A LAWSUIT IN THE WORKS, AND I THOUGHT YOU WERE ALLIES, AND COLORBLINDESS IS A SERIOUS CONDITION, AND YOU HAVE DAMAGED MY MENTAL HEALTH, AND... 6. Wedge forgets all about his trauma a couple days from now, because he's too busy blowing out his anus for no money on the Interwebz.

The whole point of a puzzle is to have something to "crack your brain" on. What's the point of a jigsaw puzzle if it doesn't make your brain work?

Slight power level, I knew this fellow who'd buy these 500 or more piece puzzles with teeny-tiny parts. He'd set them up on his desk in this little private room, and work on them for a bit. Then he'd leave it be and get on with his life. Then he'd circle back to it and work on it a little bit more. So on and so on until he got the whole thing completed - it would take him a couple weeks, but he wasn't in any rush, I mean he was in his late 60s or early 70s, thereabouts.

Then he'd either glue the pieces down permanently for the picture or he'd take it apart and do it all over again some other time. He said it helped keep his mind active.

A very healthy outlook, I thought - unlike our Wedgy-Pudgy friend here.....
